NASW ARKANSAS 2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE March 28-30, 2018 Little Rock Marriott Little Rock Arkansas REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS You are invited to submit a proposal for consideraon at the 2018 Annual Conference. This years theme recognizes that the social work profession is rapidly evolving. Social workers are quite literally on the Froners of Changehappening at the local, state, and naonal level. Many of these changes are due to emerging policies and pracces that threaten civil rights, advance structural racism, contribute to gender discriminaon, and dismantle environmental protecons currently in place. The changes to policies and pracces play a significant role in exacerbang inequality among the most marginalized groups in our communies. As social workers we must work together to remain at the forefront of change, which means fighng for the rights of the individual, the well-being of communies, and addressing todays discriminaon and injusce. Invited sessions for the 2018 conference will address these challenges by offering informaon about current knowledge, skills, and pracces being used to foster and advance change that coincides with the pillars of the social work profession. Submissions should be evidence-based and focused on best pracces and skill building for social work. Proposals can incorporate the conference theme and should include adequate informaon for evaluaon through a blinded peer-reviewed process. Proposals are encouraged in all pracce areas: micro, mezzo, and macro. Submissions should fall under one of the following social work pracce areas: Aging & Disabilies Behavioral & Mental Health Child, Family & Schools Community, Policy, and Administraon Health & Medical Professional & Career Health Care Submissions are evaluated on the following: Grounded in social work theory or pracce base Well-organized with clearly stated learning objecves Opportunies for aendees to develop competency and build/ enhance pracce skills Timely and relevant Applicable tools/techniques included in presentaon Includes findings relave to current pracce approaches Incorporates NASW Standards of Pracce, NASW Clinical Indicators, and/or policies from Social Work Speaks Submission Requirements Completed proposals must be submied by email in WORD FORMAT ONLY to [email protected]. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

You are invited to submit a proposal for consideration at the 2018 Annual Conference. This year’s theme recognizes that the social work profession is rapidly evolving. Social workers are quite literally on the “Frontiers of Change” happening at the local, state, and national level. Many of these changes are due to emerging policies and practices that threaten civil rights, advance structural racism, contribute to gender discrimination, and dismantle environmental protections currently in place.
