If you are not sure about anything, or if you want to know more, ask your doctor or a pharmacist. Keep this leaflet safe, as you may want to read it again. What i~ in your medicine Nasobec Aqueous is a nasal spray. Each spra~ from the bottle contains: SO micrograms of Beclometasone Dipropionate (active ingredient), and Phenylethyl alcohol, Benzalkonium Chloride, Polysorbate 80, Dispersible Cellulose, Dextrose and Purified Water (inactive ingredients). Your medicine may also contain Hydrochl9ric Acid to adjust the pH. Each bottle of Nasobec Aqueous contains ~OOsprays. Who makes your medicine The marketing authorisation holder and company responsible for batch release is IVAXPharmaceuticals UK, Royal Docks, London E16 ZQj, UK. What your medicine does Nasobec Aqueous contains beclometasone dipropionate, which is one of a group of medicines called corticosteroids. Your medicine has anti-inflarmatory properties. When taken regularly, it helps to treat and prevent t~e symptoms of allergic reactionsl0 pollens (hayfever), house dust, and· nimal fur, such as itchy or runny no and sneezing. Before you take your medicine Do not take your medicine if you: are allergic to medicines containing bedometasone dipropionate, or any of the other ingredients listed in the 'What is in your medicine' section. Tell your doctor before you start to take your medicine if you: are pregnant, may become pregnant or are breast-feedirg. I How to take your medicine Take your medicine as your doctor has told you to. Do not stop taking your medicine unless your doctor tells you, even if you feel better. Adults and Children over six years old When you first start using Nasobec Aqueous you normally take two sprays in each nostril twice a day. If you prefer, you can take one spray in each nostril 3 or 4 times a day. Once your symptoms are under control you should change your dosage to one spray into each nostril twice a day. It is very important to reduce your dose as soon as your symptoms are under control. Do not take more than eight sprays in 24 hours. Children less than six years old We do not recommend that children less than six years old use Nasobec Aqueous. Tell your doctor if you have watery or itchy eyes. He or she may give you another medicine to treat your eyes. You will only start to feel better after you have been taking your med.icine for a few days. Before you use your nasal spray 1. If you are using your nasal spray for the first time, remove the clip (diagram A). 12. Shake the bottle gently and then remove the dust cap. 3. Hold the bottle \ upright with your thumb under the bottle and your index finger and middle finger on either side of the nozzle (diagram B). 4. To make sure your pump is working, test spray it into the air before you use it for the first time, and whenever you have not used it for a week or more. Hold the bottle away from you and press down until you can see a fine mist. 111111

When you first start using NasobecAqueous you normally take two sprays ineach nostril twice a day. If you prefer, youcan take one spray in each nostril 3 or 4times a day.

Once your symptoms are under controlyou should change your dosage to onespray into each nostril twice a day. It isvery important to reduce your dose assoon as your symptoms are undercontrol.

Do not take more than eight sprays in24 hours.

Children less than six years old

We do not recommend that children less

than six years old use Nasobec Aqueous.

Tell your doctor ifyou have watery oritchy eyes. He or she may give you

another medicine to treat your eyes.

You will only start to feel better after youhave been taking your med.icine for a fewdays.

Before you use yournasal spray

1. If you are using your nasal sprayfor the first time, remove the clip(diagram A).

Very rarely the nose septum (thedividing partition in the nose) maybecome perforated.

If you feel unwell in any other way, tellyour doctor or pharmacist as soon as

youlcan.

Children or adolescents who are usingNasobec Aqueous for prolonged periods

may grow more slowly and your doctorwill",ant to monitor their groY,1h.

Using Nasobec Aqueous will not makeyou feel drowsy, so your ability to driveor work machinery is unaffected.

Other information

Looking after yourm~dicine

Wash thenozzle and

dust cap inwarm water.Put them in a

warm placeto dry, butdo not usetoo muchheat. Putthe nozzle

and dust cap back on.

What to do if y~u take toomuch medicine

What might happen whileyou are taking yourmedicine

You may have some side effects whileyou are taking your medicine.

Tell your doctor if you suffer from any ofthe following:

Dry and irritated nose or throat.

An unpleasant smell or taste.

Nosebleeds.

High pressure in your eye that maycause pain or blurred vision.

If you forget to take a pose at the righttime, take It as soon as you remember,and then carry on as before.

If you take more than 8 sprays in 24hours, tell your doctor immediately.

If you forget to'take a dose

After using your nasalspray

Wipe the nozzle with a clean tissueand put the dust cap back on.

You should clean the pump at leastonce a week to stop it from getti ngblocked up. Gently press upwards onthe white collar to pull the nozzle off(diagram D).

Cleaning your nasalspray

S. Gently blow your nose.

6. Close one rr.inostril by 11:1pressingyour fingeragainst itand placethe nozzleof the

spray inyour other nostril.Tilt your head slightly so that thebottle is kept upright (diagram C).

7. Breathe in through your open nostriland, at the same time, press thenozzle once with your fingers torelease the spray.

8. Breathe out through your mouth .

9. If you need to take a second spray,repeat steps 7 and 8.

10. Repeat steps 6,7,8 and 9, with yourother nostril.

Using your nasal spray
