During the holidays we have had a number of students achieve success at various sporting and cultural endeavours and I congratulate all those students on their achievements. I would also like to officially congratulate and acknowledge the permanent appointment of Mrs Vanessa Wilton to the schools English/LOTE faculty. Monday 16 October is the first day of the HSC exam period, commencing in the school hall with the 1 st of two English papers. All other exams for the HSC will be held in Science lab 4 under the supervision of external supervisors. Good luck Year 12! Year 11 students have completed their preliminary studies and will now commence their HSC studies in preparation for 2018. In order to support our students, it is anticipated that a senior study day will be held during week 3. It is important that students attend in order to gain some tips and insights into developing a successful study regime. The school for 2018 is looking at developing a new curriculum pathway program for some students in our current Year 9 cohort. This program would culminate in the attainment of a non-atar, HSC pathway that is completed 12 months earlier. An information session on this program is being held this Monday 16 th November, in the school library commencing at 6pm. Further information can be obtained by ringing the school and asking to speak to Mr Ken Platt or Mr Joe Van Weerdenburg. Year Advisors are hard at work trying to organise rewards excursions for their year groups, so please check the school calendars and be on the look out for notes regarding any upcoming events. We have had a number of new student enrolments and I would like to welcome our new families and students into the Narooma High School Community, as well as welcoming Mr O’Keeffe and Mr Hayes to the senior executive team. Welcome to Term 4 of the 2017 school year, I hope that students and parents enjoyed their two week

vacation. During the holidays we have had a number of students achieve success at various sporting

Congratulations Jack McCaughtrie represented Australia at the 17th JKA Karate World Cup in Ireland where he finished in the top 30 in the world.

Congratulations Tailem Brown was a finalist in a National Dairy Judging Competition on her first trip to the Royal Melbourne Show.

Congratulations Regina Nicholls competed in the Queensland State Sporting Championships at Roma. Regina came home with 2nd in flags, 8th in bending and 10th in barrels, competing against 30 riders.

Uniform shop Hours

The school Uniform Shop, Stitches will be open at Narooma High School every Tuesday from 10.45am

to 1.45pm, for all your uniform requirements.

Homework Centre The school will again run a homework centre in the afternoons of a Tuesday and a Thursday from 3.30-

4.30pm. Students can attend and will be supplied with some afternoon tea and will be able to access the

library facilities to help them with their homework and assignments.

Teachers who help out on these days are volunteers and give their time freely to support our students.

P&C

P&C Meetings are on every 3rd Monday evening at 7:30pm. All are welcome.
