■ MEMORABLE CONFERENCE IN RENO!NAPNAP’s 23rd Annual Nursing Con-ference on Pediatric Primary Care inReno was indeed a memorable event.On behalf of the Executive Board, Iextend our appreciation to NAPNAP’sstaff, volunteers, sponsors, and partici-pants for helping make this event sucha tremendous success. CD-ROMs ofthe excellent educational programs are

now available and can be purchasedfrom digitellinc, which you can accessthrough our Web site at www.nap-nap.org.

In brief, this year’s Conference high-lights included an Executive Board andNational Office staff team-buildingprogram, valuable educational ses-sions, and pre-Conference and post-Conference sessions. The NAPNAPStrategic Plan & Issues Forum (ourgeneral business meeting) was high-lighted by approval of Bylaws changesthat expanded the number of bothelected and voting Executive Boardmembers. Other highlights from Renoincluded the adoption of a positionpaper on age parameters and addition-al information reports presented byAssociation of Faculties of PediatricNurse Practitioners, iVillage/BabySteps, and the National CertificationBoard of Pediatric Nurse Practition-ers/Nurses. The 49th chapter (Maine)and 50th chapter (North Carolina:Charlotte) were proudly introduced atthe Chapter President’s meeting, andtwo new Special Interest Groups, Glob-

al Health Care and Breastfeeding Edu-cation, held their initial meetings dur-ing the conference.

■ NAPNAP MCNEIL GRANTS-IN-AIDThrough the generous support of Mc-Neil Consumer Health Care, NAPNAPwill again be able to provide financialsupport to NAPNAP members andone qualified PNP student to enablethem to attend the 24th Annual Con-ference in Orlando, Florida, from April9–12, 2003. Criteria for this awardinclude the following:• Residence in an educationally de-

prived area• Lack of employer support for contin-

uing education• Mandatory continuing education

units required for state licensure• Other factors, such as previous grant

fundingIf you are interested in applying for
