Naming my magazine

For my regional magazine, I have to come up with a name. I have decided that my name will have to be something with a clear correlation to the area, and one which will create a clear and memorable brand image which is easily recognisable.

I asked my focus group the following question,

Should my magazine name focus on:A) A clear and recognisable brand imageB) A clear correlation to the areaC) BothD) Other

Of the 20 people asked, 17 said C, with two saying A and the last person saying D.

Therefore, based on these results I have opted for a mixture of both.

I have come up with a few names, which I feel are most relevant to the area which also create a strong brand image. I asked my focus group the following question:

Should my name be:A) One wordB) More

Of the 20 asked, 19 said that A would be best.

Therefore, I now know I am only looking for names with one word.

Should my name include the word Thanet?

Of the 20 asked, 10 said yes.

This result makes the decision a 50/50 split.

After talking to my focus group, I have decided that my regional magazine will be called Isle.
