The connotation of this name that I have chosen is that pioneer is a known electronics sound system business, the connotation could be sound and good sound/music.

The connotation is that the music within the magazine is new and the records and bands in the magazine are all new. I chose this name because the connotation links in with indie, unsigned bands that are ‘independent’ and it comes across to the audience that they are independent or unsigned bands.

The connotation of ‘New Gen’ is that the magazine has new music in or the generation of indie rock bands. A plectrum is a small instrument used when playing the guitar, a lot of indie rock bands use guitars. The connotation of this name is that the music inside the magazine is guitar based.
