Through hands-on activities you will explore what kind of job could “fit” you. You will have guest speakers, fieldtrips, and have the chance to job shadow an adult. Do you want to explore what you want to do in the future? Do you like learning about money, credit, and how to build savings? Then Jr. Achievement is for you!

Want to learn how to juggle a soccer ball like Ronaldinho? Or shoot like Lionel Messi? Then sign up to try out for the Edwards soccer team where you will learn the true meaning of what it means to play for a TEAM. You will play against other BPS schools. (Has a writing component.) This class will have try-outs and if you are selected, will run from Academic League through electives.

Opportunities to visit famous sports sites such as FENWAY and the GARDEN are available to those in this class. First choice goes to those students who have not yet taken this class.

Step Up! – Mr. Ollivierre/Mr. Cowan Stepping at the Edwards is a longstanding and well-respected tradition that weaves together performance art (dancing, singing and gymnastics) and leadership development (confidence, scholarship, teamwork, and integrity). Steppers are school representatives, and engage in performances and service projects regularly.

12. Tennis Fundamentals (Beginners ONLY!) – Mr. Ford 140 MPH serves and jaw-dropping athleticism. Modern tennis is one of the most challenging but rewarding sports to learn and play. Throughout the semester, students will learn the following: fundamental strokes (forehand, backhand, serve, volley, and overhead), tennis' unique scoring system, tactics and strategies, and court movement. It gives them a voice, and helps them build self-esteem via the written and oral presentation of poetry focusing on issues of identity and experience.
