1. Installation on an Air Server series 1
Switch off power to the Air Server.
Disconnect the link tube if connected.
If the rear panel looks like the picture on
the left follow the installation instructions
in Section 1.1.
If the rear panel looks like the picture on
the right then refer to Section 1.2

1.1 Standard Air Server series 1
Mount the nafion dryer assembly using
the 2 screws highlighted.
Connect the 1/16” stainless steel (SS)
fitting highlighted and tighten using an 8
mm spanner.
Plug the solenoid connector into the back
panel.
The brass 1/16” connection from the link
tube connects to the brass 1/16” union
on the back panel.
The stainless steel 1/16” connection
connects to the output on the nafion
dryer as shown.

nafion dryer, use a 7/16” spanner to
secure the fitting while tightening.

1.2 Inverted Air Server series 1
Remove the 2 screws from the top
corners of the back panel.
Locate the M4 x 25 screws, spacers,
washers and bracket and assemble as
shown.

Mount the assembled bracket to the 2
holes at the top corners of the back
panel.
Remove the short 1/16” SS tubing using
8 mm and 7/16” spanners to avoid
rotating the fitting.
Attach the nuts and ferrules to the 30 cm
length of SS tubing supplied. Fit the
1/16” nut first then the back ferrule and
front ferrule.
Attach the SS tubing to the nafion dryer
using 2 spanners to avoid rotating the
fitting.

Attach the nafion dryer assembly to the
mounting bracket using M4 x 12 screws
and washers.
Plug the solenoid connection into the
back panel.
Attach the 1/16” SS connection on the
link tube to the output of the nafion dryer
as shown.

Connect the 30 cm SS line to the SS
1/16” connector on the back panel.
Connect the brass connector on the link
tube to the 1/16” brass connector on the
back panel.

2. Installation on CIA 8
Remove the short 1/16” SS tubing from
the nafion dryer assembly using 8 mm
and 7/16” spanners to avoid rotating the
fitting.
Attach the nuts and ferrules to the 30 cm
length of SS tubing supplied. Fit the
1/16” nut first then the back ferrule and
front ferrule.
Attach the SS tubing to the nafion dryer
using 2 spanners to avoid rotating the
fitting.

The dryer mounts with a single screw to
the ‘DRIER MOUNT’ point.
The 30 cm SS tubing connects to the ‘TO
UNITY’ union.
The SS fitting on the heated transfer link
connects to the nafion output.
The brass fitting on the heated transfer
link connects to the ‘FROM UNITY’ union
via a 1/16” union and 20 cm length of SS
tubing.
Plug the solenoid connection into the
‘DRIER SWITCH’ position.

Note that on newer systems the ‘DRIER
SWITCH’ connection may be a two pin
molex connector.
The nafion dryer assembly comes with
two types of fittings, so if the molex fitting
is required the other fitting can be
detached.
Dry gas (typically nitrogen) is connected
to the 1/8” fitting on the nafion dryer as
shown.

3. Installation on an TT24-7 series 2
Disconnect the Power & Communication
cables from the TT24-7 Series 2.
Allow sufficient time for the Heated Valve
to cool to ambient temperatures. This is
where the Nafion Drier is installed.
Remove the Top Front Cover
Push the black fasteners of the cover
down to release them. A pen or
screwdriver may be required to allow
release
Ensure the cover has cleared the brackets
before moving it forward.

Remove the Top Middle Cover
Gently pull the top middle cover forward
until the screws are disengaged.
NOTE: Apply even pressure to each side of
the cover.
Lift the cover upwards once dis-engaged

Remove the Top Rear Cover
Gently push the top rear cover backwards
until the screws are disengaged.
NOTE: Apply even pressure to each side of
the cover.
Lift the cover upwards
Fit Nafion Drier Mount Plate, TT24-7
(SERNOASERNOASERNOASERNOA----1053105310531053) to the top of the heated
valve cover using M4 Hexflanged Nut
(SERZSERZSERZSERZ----NM4FLGSSNM4FLGSSNM4FLGSSNM4FLGSS)
When fitting, fit so that the threaded holes
on the left hand side.

Remove the tubing shown.
A 7/16” Spanner must be used on the
body of the Union & a 5/16” for the
1/16in Nut.

Fit the Nafion Drier link for TT24-7 S2
(SERNOASERNOASERNOASERNOA----1069106910691069) along with Nut 1/16in
(SERZSERZSERZSERZ----0157015701570157), Front Ferrule
1/16in(SERZSERZSERZSERZ----0158015801580158) & Rear Ferrule
1/16in (SERZSERZSERZSERZ----0159015901590159).
A 7/16” Spanner must be used on the

Insert the Nut, 1/4in, for Unions, St St
(SERZSERZSERZSERZ----0918091809180918) & Ferrule, 1/4in x 1/16in,

Fit the Nafion Drier to the Nafion Drier
Mount Plate fitted to the Heated Valve
As fitted insert the Link Tube into the
Inlet of the Valve
Use Screw M4 x 8 Pozi Pan (SERZSERZSERZSERZ----
SM408PPSSSM408PPSSSM408PPSSSM408PPSS & Washer M4 Plain (SERZSERZSERZSERZ----
WM4PSSWM4PSSWM4PSSWM4PSS) to secure the Nafion Drier to
the Plate.
Position the Nafion Drier so that it’s coil
is to the left of the GC Transfer Line
Heated Valve Inlet
Tighten the 1/4in Nut on to the Union of
the Inlet using 2 x 9/16” Spanners
Do not over tighten the union, the fitting
should be tightened finger tight plus 3/4
of a turn of the spanner

Connect the Nafion Dryer solenoid
valve to the connection on the
rear deck.
Route the connection to minimise
contact with heated / sharp edges
Connect the dry gas supply
(typically Nitrogen) to the rear of
the Nafion Drier assembly
Route the tubing upwards as
shown, this is essential to re-fit
the covers

Re-fit the covers.
As fitting the Rear & Middle Cover,
take care with the fitted Nafion
Drier
Re-connect the Power &
Communication cables to the
TT24-7.
Once the software has been
opened, set the flow path
temperature to a maximum of
100°C
WARNING: Above this
temperature there is the
possibility that the drier will not
function correctly & damage may
be caused to internal parts of the
Drier.
Go to View>>Options
On the configuration tab, tick the
‘Nafion Drier’ box.
Once ticked select ok, the Nafion
Drier will now activate when
continuous sampling is used.
(NOTE: the Nafion Drier cannot be
used during tube desorption)
