2014 Calendar of Events
The calendar of events for 2014 has been tentatively set and published.
There was no problem coming up with interesting and fun stuff for the
club to do. In fact, the bigger problem was trimming down to a
reasonable size the list of things we’d like to do.
We now have 21 members in the club and a few more who are going to
“test drive” the club for a bit, and we couldn’t be happier that there is
this much interest. These members are scattered over a large part of the
state, and this influenced the decision-making as to where to schedule
outings.
Weather always figures into taking a drive in our cars, and it’s likely
that some of our events will get rained out. But, with at least 16 events
on the schedule, we should be left with plenty to keep us busy this
summer.
Knowing that everyone is busy with families and other commitments, it
is only natural that not everyone will get to attend every outing, but
with this many events scheduled, you can pick and choose which ones
you can make.
The schedule will appear later in this newsletter, on our website, and
everyone on the mailing list will get updates on where we’re going next.
The calendar is subject to change, but we hope you will like what is
planned for this, our first full season.

INSURANCE QUOTE OBTAINED
In an effort to protect the club, its officers, and its members, the club has begun the application process for insurance coverage for the club. By the time you read this, we will likely be covered by a Commercial General Liability policy from J. C. Taylor. This policy provides coverage for members for bodily injury and property damage liability arising out of an occurrence associated with club activities. Obviously, you still MUST carry your own auto insurance in accordance with state laws, but this coverage will provide the club with additional protection at an affordable price. If you have questions, contact Mike Bare 765-561-4933.
We are developing our club’s website. Check it out at

Annual Meeting Held April 5th
The first Annual Meeting was held
at the Claddagh Irish Pub, where the
gang heard interesting stories from
Mike Hamblin.
Mike is experienced as a crew
member on Indy Car teams and is
the owner of MIKAR in Carmel, a
garage that does repairs and
restorations on all kinds of special
interest vehicles.
The club transacted a short business
meeting, ate some good grub, heard
some good racing stories, and just
had a generally good time.
Mike Hamblin entertains the group
with stories of IRL and CART racing.
If you would like to join Hoosier Cobra as a member
or as a corporate sponsor, call Terry Gentry at 614-537-2970.

Good fun in London
Hoosier Cobra would like to have a large representation at the London Cobra Show. If you’ve never been—you should go and check it out. It is a Cobra lover’s paradise. Car shows, cruises, burnouts on Main Street, a huge all-Cobra parade, meeting other Cobra enthusiasts from all over the country… Well, it’s just a great time. You can also buy a chance on the Cobra they’re raffling. Best of all, the proceeds from the entire weekend go to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The Ohio Cobra Club has donated over $800,000 to this noble cause—all funds raised by the annual Cobra show . Go to the London Cobra show website or the Ohio Cobra Club website and see how much fun it can be. It would be great to have a bunch of Hoosier Cobras there.
Mission Statement Our club doesn’t have a formal mission statement yet. We really haven’t even talked about it. Who
knows, maybe we don’t need one. If we were to have a mission statement though, it would be all about the
appreciation and enjoyment of our Cobra replica cars. It would also involve having fun and being around
people with similar interests.
We’re just getting started, but we’re making great strides for such a new club. Let’s have a great summer.
Next edition, we’ll be highlighting some of our corporate sponsors.
That’s going to do it for this edition of Snakebytes. Keep having fun---and be careful out there.
