DAVID (Dave) GOTKIN . . . 6-1 . . . 160 lbs....Senior . . . New York City, N. Y. Captain of the1955 team is Dave Gotkin, a brilliant outside shoot-er, who is showing the way in early practice withhis driving lay-ups. Gotkin looks much improvedover last year and likely will be used in a startingrole. Last season Gotkin averaged 8.4 points pergame, dropping down from his 13 point average asa sophomore, but indications point to Gotkin’s scor-ing ability increasing this year. He led both Red andWhite teams with 34 points in the off-season prac-tice game and in exhibition play this year has im-proved tremendously. Dave will be playing hisfourth varsity season for the Wolfpack and washonored by his teammates by being named captainthis year. Has a tremendous desire and is a finefloor leader. Dave’s steading influence is one of hisfinest attributes and he’s the quarterback of theWolfpack offense. Gotkin was named All-City atThomas Jefferson High before coming to State andhas lived up to the advance predictions that hewould become an outstanding college performer.Enrolled in Rural and Industrial Recreation and isa fine student. Dave is married to his high schoolsweetheart. He is the son of Joseph Gotkin, 678 NewJersey Avenue, Brooklyn, N. Y.
