In a course for students in organization theory they wrote essays on
e.g. leadership. Of all those written on the topic leadership, all except
one mentioned either Adolf Hitler or Mahatma Gandhi – or both.
Leadership is either the bottomless evil (Hitler) or the impeccably
good (Gandhi).
Leadership talk immediately means that a symbolic dimension
involving the struggle between good and evil is staged. Talking about
leadership means that a polarized moral dimension is omnipresent.
