Wider Curriculum

DT This week, we are going to be exploring Indian food! Start by looking at the information text, pictures and videos on this webpage: https://www.oddizzi.com/teachers/explore-the-world/country-close-up/case-study-india/living-in-india/food/ Have you ever tried any of these foods? With your family, try making a few typically Indian foods. Below are some links to recipes you could try below. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipe/vegetable-samosas https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/onion-bhajis-raita https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/chapatis

Please share your photos of your Indian inspired feasts with me on SeeSaw and tell me all about the foods that you tried! I wonder if you will have a favourite? Computing If it is possible, use a word processing package (like Microsoft Word) to create a menu for the food you are serving at your Indian restaurant. Have a go at experimenting with the formatting by combining text and images and using bold, underline and colour to make the presentation effective. If you are not able to use a word processing package, you can make your menu by hand. Make sure you include some pictures too! Choir and Dance Videos Mrs Pain is missing Choir and Dance club so has been busy making some videos for you to join in with! Anybody can have a go! Use this page to plan your ideas. Make a mindmap of interesting vocabulary and phrases that you

would like to include in your description of Mowgli. Remember to include what type of person he is

as well as what he looks like. The more ideas you can jot down, the better so look at the picture in

detail for ideas! Make sure you think of all of the different word types we have learned.

Nouns – What is it? Name what you are describing (e.g. hair, scars).

Adjectives – Can you describe the noun? What is it like? (e.g. independent, scruffy)

Verbs – An action word. What is it doing? (e.g. climbing, exploring)

Adverbs – How is it doing that? Describe the verb. (e.g. confidently, bravely)
