Abstract: Until now the ancient civilisation of Atlantis has been relegated to the fictional musings of Plato (350BC), Edgar Allan Poe (1841) and Jules Verne (1870). The discovery in 2014 of the RMS US Lucitania at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle, along with relics of an ancient civilisation now suggest that these two phenomenon are directly related, and that the city of Atlanta remained alive and active until at least 1969 (coinciding with the last recorded incident of lost ships and planes into area of water bounded by the triangular vertices of Miami, Florida - San Juan, Puerto Rico - Bermuda Island, Carribean). This paper describes the history leading up the discoveries, a description of the artefacts and their likely function, and theories as to what lead to the final demise of this ultra-advanced group of humanity.

Timeline

360BC Plato first mentions Atlantis as fictional island in his book ‘Timaeus’1.

1800s Plato’s ‘myth’ gained popularity spawning scientifc research and many literary references

1841 Publication of ‘Descent into the Maelstrom’ by Edgar Allan Poe2

1843 Commander Matthew Montaine Maury (oceanographer, cartographer, historian, as-tronomer in the US Navy) was ‘shipwrecked’ on RMS US Lucitania3. We now believe that the ship was sucked into the vortex of the Bermuda triangle, and that he and his crew continued to live and were integrated with the Atlanteans.

1870 ‘20,000 Leagues under the Sea’ by Jules Verne was published4 prompted further exploration of the ocean and its hidden worlds

1950 Edward Van Winkle Jones writing in the Miami Herald first mentioned the phenom-enom of the Bermuda Triangle5

1960sContinental Drift theory started to be considered as a plausible theory6, which led to speculation that the original Atlantis may have been separated into two – leading to an unknown civilisation situated in the deepest point of the ocean floor, under the Bermuda Triangle

1964 Pulp magazine Argosy, defined the boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle citing the vertices of the triangle as Miami, Florida – Bermuda Island, Carribean – San Juan, Puerto Rico7.

1964 Robert Ballard (oceanographer who also discovered the Titanic) proposes that Plato’s reference to the city of Atlantis is actually not fictional8. He proposes that this premise was informed directly by the Mayans (2000BC – 250AD), as evidenced through advanced construction and technologies, also design features such as the zig-zag.

2014 The shipwreck of the RMS US Lucitania was discovered along with evidence of an abandoned civilisation (along with a series of terribly exciting artefacts - refer Schedule of Works). The discovery made by professional scientist Professor Arysio Santos (PHD Nuclear Phisics, Free Docency in Phisical-Chemistry) came about when re-searchers undertaking field work at the bottom of the ocean, heard strands of music and chants which eerily resembled the theme song of popular soap opera “Days of Our Lives”. Prof Santos publishes a book confirming her belief that she has discovered the lost city of Atlantis9

Schedule of Works

ITEM #1‘THE DEHYDROGENATOR’This breathing apparatus is a remarkable piece of technology that appears to have been crafted from the bones of the lesser known cuttlefish Sepia dehydrogenalis (related to the common cuttlefish (Sepia Commonalis). This creature that normally has a symbiotic relationship with the Narwhal (Monodon Monoceros), has certain properties exploited by the Atlantisians to convert water to Oxygen. It uses the principles of electrolysis, and works in much the same way as the gills of a fish.

ITEM #2‘MOKSTRAUMEN VORTEXUS’A gigantic circular vortex generator believed to create wirlpools (or maelstroms) in the Bermuda Triangle to capture planes and ships. Also suspected to be integral in the spreading of Sand, the life force required to start all life and grow new cultures.

ITEM #3‘SOFT GAMMA REPEATOR 1806-20’ One of the most powerful magnets ever discovered. Only 10 such generators were known of until this was discovered. It transmits a continuous melodic chanting’ Like Sands through the Hourglass, So are the Days of Our Lives’. Coincedentally, this sound is the themesong to the American Soap Opera calle ‘Days of Our Lives’ which is now thought to be a propaganda channel used by the Atlantisians to rule the planet.

Schedule of Works

ITEM #4‘CHAIN OF WEIGHTS’A random collection of metal blobs gathered from around the remnants of the civilisation area indicate that these may hve been valued objects derived from the ships and planes gathered through the vortex. Many of the bobs have been attached to chains, some longer and larger than others which lead us to think that these were used both for adornment and to act as a weighting mechanism to allow the people to manage their bouyancy within the confines of the the city. The variety of metals used may relate to somesort of a value system as no other form of currancy has yet been identified.

ITEM #5‘PADDLES/FINS’Created from thin shell and strong seaweed material these appear to be paddles that attach to the hands to aid locomotion. Fragile remants of other similar shell forms indicate that while some of the adult inhabitants probably had specially evolved feet and hands the young may have needed assistance with these attachments for their hands and feet.

ITEM #6‘ALGAL STRAINERS’Gathering and preparing food at such depths under the sea must have presented its challenges. This relic appears to be made from a material that expands in water and would be able to sift out the small plankton and algae eaten by the inhabitants. Larger versions may have been held over vents of hot water that must have abounded to make the weed more digestable.

ITEM #7‘MAP’A gem of a section of what has to be the first 3D map developed. This fragment is made from finely joined fish scales and lined with thin strands of fish hair showing the main routes through the city and over the various rock forms. It is weighted down on one side, may have attached to the wrist of the user to ensure it did not float away when in use. Alternatively it may have been a decorative cuff.

The Demise of the Atlantans

The discovery, in 2014, of the Lost City of Atlantis was one of a deserted cvilisation. While there was evidence of life in terms of artifacts and relics there was no evidence of human remains. There are a number of theories as to what led to their demise including

• Global Warming making the area too hot to remain an and they have moved further soth towards Antartica;

• Plastic waste clogging up the gills of the Dehydrogenators and affecting the function of the Vortex Generator

• Disease; or most likely,• Depletion of the Sands of Time - as the crytals had communication functions it is likely

that the people of Atlanta had sufficent warning to depart this area and moved awat to somewhere else.

Figure 4 Crystals “Sands of Time” The Life Force of the Atlantan. Believed to have harnessed and dissipated energy. A valuable resource in many areas of life including healing, pysic abilities, dematerialization, telekinesis, weather control, comunication etc. Thought to have been used extensively as part of everyday live. The Sands of Time were contained within and slowly flowed out of, the Magnetor ‘soft gamma repeater 1806-20’ (refer Schedule of Works Item # 3)
