PRINCIPAL AWARDS

FOUNDATION TRANSITION DATES:

Friday 10th November 9:30 -11am. Meet your buddy and have a school

tour, then share stories and play games with them.

Friday 24th November 9:30-11am. Specialist class in art, music or sport.

Parents to meet with teachers for an information session in the Library

followed by morning tea in the staffroom.

Friday 8th December 9:30-11am. Explore Investigations with teachers and

learn about the different areas.

CRICKET T20—BIG BLAST

This Friday, 12 Grade 6 girls and 12 Grade 6 boys will travel to Ballarat to

compete in the annual T20 Big Blast competition at Victoria Park. Both

teams will play 3 games against other schools with the aim of making the

final. The children have been training hard for this event and are really

looking forward to it. A special thankyou to all the parents who have

offered to assist with transporting the children to and from Ballarat.

SWIMMING

Swimming will be offered to all of our students again this year. The cost of

swimming will be $100.00 Permission forms will be sent home this week. It

commences on Monday 13th—Thursday 16th November and Monday

20th—Thursday 23rd November. Payment must be paid prior to com-

mencing lessons.

ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM

As part of our “Artists in Schools Program”, Ms Phillipa Osborne-Smith will be working with several groups of

children to complete our next mural. The mural will be painted on our water tanks behind the Multi-Purpose

Shed and have an “Australiana” theme

THE RACE THAT STOPS THE WESTERN FREEWAY!

Myrniong Cup Field for 2017

1. The Bride - Has had an exceptional year, winning everything that she has entered.

Big Chance.

2. Dasher - Very speedy type that always gets the job done. Will be there abouts.

3. Sebastopol Flyer - newcomer to the Myrniong track, early indication is that she will

go the distance. Chance!

4. Amazing Grace - Very experienced campaigner who will give a great sight.

5. The Turtle - Certainly follows the saying, “Slow and steady wins the race”. Chance if

starts the race early, fitness a huge concern.

6. Yellow and Black - Much improved type who has got the “Pep” back in his step.

Crowd favourite who will be sure to be in the finish.

7. Mr Rrrr - Newcomer to the Myrniong way racing, has settled in well and will be fin-

ishing strongly.

8. Lightning Les - If he runs like he drives, slow and steady, he will only be making up

the numbers, fitness is a big worry.

9. One Hundred and Eighty - Very honest performer who always does her best. One to

watch, will be a popular winner.

10.Scott the Builder - Second attempt to win the Cup, was very unlucky last year but

distance and fitness is a worry. Had a great win at Punt Road recently.

11. Bustling Ben - Colorful newcomer to the Myrniong circuit, has been impressing in

track work, could be the surprise packet.

12. Einstein - has created a huge impression in track work, will look the winner at some

stage.

13. Greybeard - As the name suggests, a veteran performer who has run in all 22 cups. Has been trained for this race and the smart money says he will win. Stable very con-fident and he can produce.

14. Gordon Flyer - has been freshened up for this race and connections are very confi-

dent of a win, will definitely run the distance.

15. Non Fiction—has been preparing for this race at the Toolern Vale racetrack, big rep-

utation and definitely one to watch.

16. Jetstar Jill - International traveller who always gives her best, sure to be in the finish.

17. Wrecking Ball - providing the jockey can keep this talented runner focused, this could

be the year that talking the talk gets results. Sure to be heard!

18. Dollars and Cents - Always presents in peak condition, has been training for this race

for 12 months, has crunched the numbers, can win! Value Runner.

19. Back in Black - Very enthusiastic performer who will make presence felt. It’s a long

way to the top, can he make it.

20. Last Post - Very talented performer who always gives her best. Sure to be trumpet

ing a home with a big finish.

21. Picasso—Very colourful performer who has done the “hard yards” in training. Sure

to be trained to the minute and this could be the year. One to watch.

22. Just a Jester - Has kept a low profile, but sure is ready to produce on the day. Bu-

ninyong form is good but up against much stronger opposition at Myrniong. Value

runner.

23. Mum’s Pride - Will be final race before retiring, has been racing in great form and

sure to be in the finish. Big chance.

24. The Groom - Has been talking up his chances and abilities. Failed to make the final

of Dunnstown recently and fitness is a worry. Could have his mind on other things.
