MAKING TRACK INTO MYANMAR’S GROWING MOTORCYCLE MARKET

Myanmar is one of the fastest growing economies in the Southeast Asia region, with signicant investments made in its manufacturing and infrastructure projects coupled with a vibrant tourism industry, which is set to power the country’s economy further in the future. The demand for personal transport vehicles has also

risen in along with the key sectors as incomes rise, particularly for motorbikes.MYANBIKE 2017 – Myanmar’s No.1 International Motorcycle & Accessories Exhibition will be held at the MEP Mindama, Yangon, Myanmar from 17-19 November 2017, and is your key marketing platform to open up your business opportunities in Myanmar as a result of this increase in demand.

The Asian Development Bank has reported 8.4% growth in Myanmar's gross domestic product in 2016, and 2017 gures are projected to be 8.3%. This greatly puts the country ahead of all other countries in the Southeast Asian region in terms of economic growth. With a new leadership under Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's political party, a strong population of over 52 million people and a large proportion of its people in the working class, the country's has great capability to maintain its rapid progress.

Held in conjunction with MYANAUTO – Myanmar’s Biggest International Automotive Parts and Accessories Exhibition, MYANBIKE 2017 is expected to have participation by over 200 exhibiting companies and an attendance of over 6,000 trade visitors all over the country.

Whether your objective is to conduct market feasibility studies, seek local partners and distributors, increase existing market share in Myanmar, or simply just to maintain relationships with key clients while looking for new opportunities with foreign partners, you can be certain to meet your objectives at MYANBIKE 2017.

Myanmar was named as one of the next automotive frontiers in a recent analyst note published under the "Autofacts" report line by professional services rm PwC, with the country also called "Asia's next rising star".

Myanmar's automotive aftermarket is undergoing an impressive growth phase following the ease of car import regulations after decades of restrictions, Solidiance reported in a recent market study. Demands for spare parts and after sales services are on the rise as car circulation is dominated by second-hand units, with more than 20 Asian brands ruling the automotive aftermarket.

Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda Motor Company recently started its after-sales business in Myanmar in December 2016. In an ocial statement, the company stated that the country is "regarded as one of the important markets with high potentials to grow in Asia with the population of 50 million".

Used cars still dominate Myanmar's automotive market. Of the roughly 110,000 vehicles registered over 2016, used models accounted for over 90% of the imports.
