    Through this session we have been introduced to the dierent teaching

    methods. A method is a way o teaching which is deendent on your be!ies

    about what !anguage is" how eo!e !earn or how teaching he!s eo!e !earn.

    Thereore" you wi!! have to ma#e methodo!ogica! decisions about what to teach

    and how" ways to reer to students or ways to assess.

    $es!ie introduced us to the %$T &%ommunicative $anguage teaching' It is

    be!ieved that !earners wi!! !earn best i they articiate in meaningu!

    communicationa! acts. There are two tyes o %$T(

    a' )trong %$T( )tudents !earn by communicating" which means they do by

    doing communicative tas#s with a !imited ro!e or e*!icit teaching and

    traditiona! ractice e*ercises. &e.g. +ou ,ust thin# o a tas# and the

    grammar comes out o it'

    b' -ea# %$T( )tudents !earn through a wide variety o teaching" e*ercises"

    activities and study" with a tendency towards sea#ing and !istening wor#.

    Another interesting teaching aroach we were to!d about was A$A&Acuisition $earning Aroach' /evised by )tehen 0rashen" a!so #nown as

    1the natura! aroach2. This is a co!!ection o methods and techniues rom

    many sources" a!! intended to rovide the !earner with natura!

    comrehensib!e !anguage" so that the !earner can ic# u !anguage in ways

    simi!ar to a chi!d !earning their 3rst !anguage. The basis o this !earning

    method is on the natura! order that the content is de!ivered. 4rammar ru!es

    wou!d be a!ied when !earners are ready.

    %5$ &%ontent 5ased $earning' is a tas#6based aroach in which content and

    orm are integrated throughout the tas#s. Regarding this aroach is based onsimu!taneous use o unction and orm" there shou!d be more te*t boo#s based

    on this combination" or they are most!y based on orm &grammar content'. That

    is why this idea! method is so hard to introduce" as it reuires an e*tra eort

    rom the teacher to adat the content to the method. Tas#s have to be

    meaningu! or the students" meaning that they shou!d be based on the needs o

    eo!e in their dai!y !ives.

    %5$ is the oosite o 777 &7resentation" 7ractice" 7roduction'" which is the

    standard way o teaching" in which teachers resent the content with !itt!e or no

    interaction rom or amongst !earners. $earners are given inut" they areintroduced to some ractice and thereore" they are suosed to be ab!e to

    roduce what they have !earnt.

    And then8 what about the dierent aces o !earning in A$A9 A!! o this made

    me thin# about how di:cu!t it is to be a teacher" since you have to thin# on so

    many things; The truth is that most teachers do not o!!ow a sing!e method.

    Through ractise" you !earn to combine and adat the methods to your !earners
