The children who were overweight and obese at reception age in 2011/2012 will now be in year 3. According to NCMP 2011/2012 data the rates of obesity from reception age to Year 6 doubles. This means that if a school showed that 10% of children were obese in reception, it would be very likely that in year 6, 20% of children would be obese, this is a worrying trend and one which My Sporting Chance hopes to reverse.
