My soul magnifies…

My soul magnifies…And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has

rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of

His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me

blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and

holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from

generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm;

He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the

lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He

has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel,

a remembrance of His mercy, As He spoke to our

fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.”

My soul magnifies…“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother,and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, andMary Magdalene. My soul magnifies…• It was at this point that Jesus realized He had

accomplished all He was asked to

– Mary did not doubt or argue with God


• There are no perfect parents– In spite of Mary’s holiness, she was human



• Except for Jesus, there are no perfect children– And even He was a handful…

• There are many types of parents and children– Pharoah’s daughter raised Moses– Paul and Timothy


• Mary’s desire to please the Lord provided the parent Jesus needed



• John’s desire to please the Lord provided the “son” Mary needed

• When our desire is to please the Lord, all sorts of crazy, wild and exciting opportunities exist


• Role in life today– father, son– mother, daughter– step, spiritual, other, in-law



• If we are yielded to Him, then our circumstances are what He has for us at this moment

• Can we see that?

Magnify:

• to make great

• to make conspicuous

• to deem or declare great

• to esteem highly, to extol, laud, celebrate

• to get glory and praise


As I live my life - as parent or child, by birth or

by relationship - I can magnify the Lord.


As I live my life - as parent or child, by birth or

by relationship - I can magnify the Lord.

Just as the moon reflects the glory of the sun,

So our lives can reflect the glory of the SON.
