My Service Project: Main Line Animal Rescue

What is it? Main Line Animal Rescue is an animal

shelter and care center in Chester Springs, PA for abandoned and abused dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and other small pets

What I Did As an orange team volunteer, which was

the second level of volunteering, my duties consisted of walking dogs, cleaning kennels, feeding, bathing, and cat care

The Founder Bill Smith founded MLAR

in response to the amount of puppy mills located in the surrounding areas of Chester Springs, such as Lancaster.

He is a strong advocator against the cruelty of puppy pills and puts his heart and soul into this shelter and its inhabitants

Why I Love It The dogs clearly cherish any human attention

given to them because of the sheltered lives they lead

Giving the animals a fresh start is the best feeling—they deserve it
