My research

The object of my reserch is Russian political advertising and political myths and other things, which helps candidates to win elections

The research is based on State Duma’s election in 2007 and President’s Election in 2008.

3 main points

1. Russian candidates and parties not only use all components of political advertising but create their own

2. It is posible to mark out some trends, which were used by all parties and some candidates

3. The very special place is taken by negative ads & unetical methods (attack advertising, squeezing of fear)

First point: methods

Russian pol.parties used universally recognized methods of pol.ads: spot, billboards, advertising in magazines, public speeches, debates (in a less degree). In this complex stress is made not only on a logical perception but on an emotional component either.

I worked through images, symbols, colors, nonverbal communications.

Second point: trendsWe can mark out some main trends

•A lot of parties played with a theme of the Past

•Moreover parties recognize world-wide trend. They include more and more women in their slates and the most famous of them are used in advertising (such as movie stars, sportswomen and so on).

Third point: Negative advertising•Example 1Putin and United Russia “killed” SPS named them spies. There were arresting of numbers of printed copies, spreading of disinformation.

To sum up

1. Nonverbal communication in political practice of Russia is already reality.

2. There are some new trends: such as: women in slates and discourse of the past.

3. There is increasing of negative advertising

Conclusion

In spite of reduction of elections, there isn’t reduction in inventiveness of their authors. We will be able to see flourishing of political advertising in Russia.
