Exploring genre
Action and Adventure
What is an action or adventure
film?An action film has been defined as:
A film genre in which one or more heroes are thrust into a series of
challenges that typically include physical feats, extended fight
scenes, violence, and frenetic chases. Action films tend to feature a
resourceful character struggling against incredible odds, including life-
threatening situations, a villain, or a pursuit, which generally conclude
in victory for the hero.
An adventure film has been defined as:
Adventure films are a very similar genre of film to action films, but
unlike action films, they often use their action scenes preferably to
display and explore exotic locations in an energetic way.

Would I be able to produce an
action film trailer?
Action and adventure films often require highly professional editing
techniques of which I do not have access to, this editing software is
used to produce explosions, for example.
They also often require large casts, stunt people and can see very
dangerous scenes being shot. Without access to editing software of
this standard and a cast of thousands or an experienced medical team
it may be difficult to produce a quality film of this genre.
What can be noticed is that most film's of this genre are often
blockbuster films with large budgets, any independent action films often
receive lower ratings due to the quality of the effects.
I would rather produce a quality trailer, rather than try to make one that
may not look as professional as another genre could on an
independent film-makers budget.
