my preliminary task evalutation
TRANSCRIPT
PRELIMINARY TASK
In this preliminary task we have written a narrative, a script (to accompany the narrative), pitched our ideas to our group, filmed our scripts and edited them to a finished product using Final Cut Pro.
RESEARCH:
Not much research went in
to our preliminary task as it wasn’t
required. We did, however, le
arn how to setup our
equipment safely and carefully, so we didn’t damage
anything. We also used our common knowledge of a
relationship between our pairing (Footballer and The
Coach).
EQUIPMENT:
The equipment we used included:
A camera, A tripod, A dolly (to hold the tripod), headphones, a boom pole and a microphone. We learnt how to use them safely and carefully to avoid damage. The camera was used to film our script, the tripod was used to hold the camera in a stable position. The dolly was used the move the tripod with the camera on in order to get better shots/angles. The headphones were used so we could hear what we were recording, the microphone was used to capture the audio of our film and the boom pole was used to position the microphone in an appropriate position.
PITCH PROCESS:
The pitch process meant we pitched our narrative and script to
our group and the idea we thought fit best with the filming
process was the one that we chose to film. It took about 5
minutes to decide which script we were going to use as it
was fairly clear which fit better. We chose the pairing of the
Footballer and their Coach because we saw an interesting
conflict, argument and resolution between the 2.
IMPROVEMENTS!:
Of course there were many improvements that could have been made to our preliminary task. Things such as:
More research into our couple even if it’s not required just so we get a better idea about them.
We could have set up our equipment much quicker as it took nearly 30 minutes for us to set it up.
We could have had a much better idea on how we were going to film our script as the process took a very long time and everything was a bit messy and had a lack of structure.
