“My Prayer For the Church”

Ephesians 1:15-23

I. I give thanks for you (15-16)

• Your faith in the Lord Jesus– We are at different places in our faith journey– I am encouraged by the growth of faith– I wish some would let God control more

• Need to let God have more of us• Grieve over choices that don’t honor God• If Jesus is Lord it would make a difference

• Your love for all the saints– The way you exhibit love for one another– The way you accept newcomers– The way you care for one another

II. I pray that you may know Him better (17).

• That He may give you the Spirit of wisdom– Understand the teachings of Scripture– Know how to proceed with future ministry

• What is next?• Maintain the status quo?• Take it to the next level?

II. I pray that you may know Him better (17).

• That He may give you the Spirit of revelation– Know more of the character of Christ– His will to revealed to us

• How intimately do we know Him?• Do we hear what He is saying?• Do we see where He is leading?

III. I pray that you may know the hope to which He has called you.

• The riches of His glorious inheritance– Fully acquainted with benefits of hope– Understand what to expect as believers

• His incomparably great power for us– Series of powerful acts

• Converting, Keeping, Raising, Exalting

– Same power is at work in us today
