1.0 | Introduction

My Patients is an application for doctor’s and nurses who need to be able to constantly keep track of theirpatients, even when they need to step away from their desk. The application relys on a connected serversystem that contains a patient’s full medical history including items up until the last few minutes. The systemupdates in real time, giving the nurse or doctor immediate feedback when lab results are in or if a differentdepartment has issued orders.

This application is also a portal for nurses to enter routine tasks like medicine delivery, taking notes of exactdosages given and any observations of the patients. The system automatically saves the data and uploadsthe entry to the server so it is accessible by anyone on the system.

The overall user interface of this application is purposely limitedin terms of how deep the user is able to go. For example, allpertinent information that the doctor or nurse will need isplaced on the main patient page, where they canquickly and easily look at the patients recent historyto help them make an informed decision about theirmedical needs.

The success of this system relies heavily on the integration of all patient medical records into one singlelocation. In an ideal situation, this integration would be similar to the design below. Not only will departmentswithin a single hospital need to have all of their medical records integrated and in the cloud, all otherhospitals that hold records for the patient will also need to be integrated. The application will then retrievethe information from the cloud and display it accordingly.
