My name is Phil Woodard.
I am 17 years old.
I am an honor student…
…at Jackson High School.
I go to classes at Jackson High in the mornings.
I think the skeleton is funny!
I eat lunch with 600 people!
In the afternoons, I go to work at Napoleon schools.
I am a computer technician.
I perform daily system backups.
I make and test networking cable.
I work with the system files.
I work with the servers.
I help keep the school computers working.
I like to make robots.
I use a plan…
…to put them together.
Then I hook up the wires.
Then I download a program…
…that tells the motors what to do.
Then, I program those motors together.
I made a parking gate.
And an excavator.
I made a giant spider robot.
I can program a microcontroller.
I built my computer from parts…
…and installed Windows Vista.
I set up and configured our wireless network.
I fix computers when they don’t work.
I like to solder electronics projects.
I made a computer that fits in a mint can!
I made the multimeter that my sister uses in college.
I am making an LED table.
I like to ride my bike.
I like to ride in cool cars.
Sometimes, I like to walk.
I like to read magazines.
And I like to go to concerts, movies and plays.
I like The Weather Channel and You Tube.
I like to play video games.
I like to go to museums.
I go to Robot Team at the career center.
We made a big robot.
It can lift a ball.
Our team is called The Jacktown Vectors.
Each week, I go to MSU after school…
…to work with Mike at the Engineering School.
I made an amplifier…
…from a diagram.
Sometimes I make cable…
I make telephone cable…
…or networking cable…
…or coaxial cable.
Sometimes, Mike helps me solder circuits.
And Mike shows me the big machines!
One day for work, I might fix or program computers.
Or maybe I will make networks.
Or work with robots.
Or work with other electronics.
I can do so many things!
