The movie is about the story and life of a man named Rizvan Khan, a Muslim who as a child, he grew up with a disease that eventually would cause him difficulties in every aspect of his professional and love life. Khan, was born with different abilities just like any other human would, but there was something great about him, since he was a child, he was very curious and intelligent, he could repair any electrical device and so on, while he was in the process of growing, he gradually came to understand that no barrier or obstacle could stop his dreams. After the years passed, he and his brother Zakir, grew up having a happy childhood; until one day they both suffered the loss of their beloved mother. Because of that, they both moved to San Francisco, seeking for a better life. While growing up, one day Khan realized he had a disease called Asperger Syndrome, which made considerable limitations in his lives.

Through the movie, Khan begins to make money, selling products from a business called "Mehnaz Herbal Beauty Products"; after visiting several places, and having an unfortunate and almost deadly accident, he meets Mandira, a hair dresser who saves his life by protecting him from noises, that he couldn't bare to hear, due to the Asperger Syndrome. From that moment, Khan falls in love with Mandira, and starts to love every movement, smell or smile he sees in her.

Over the months Mandira and Khan conceive marriage in a beautiful ceremony. Despite having a different religion and different beliefs, (Khan being an Islamic and Mandira, believing in Hinduism); Khan accepts a kid named Samir as his own son; Samir, is the child from Mandira's past marriage; and after several years, the Khan family is begging to prosper and they start living a life full of a good economy and happiness. Everything was almost perfect. But that would be over pretty soon, when a terrible event changes the course of American History. After the 9/11 terrorist attack, Hindus and Islamic communities are rejected, discriminated and treated as criminals; having violence in the children schools, and in the families businesses, for the simple fact of not being, or looking like an "American".

These severe problems of discrimination cause direct problems between Samir and his best friend Reese, who is a "pure" American; Reese, suddenly stops talking to him and being his friend, because of Samir's Islamic roots. Over the months, Khan, Mandira and Samir face a life of fear and danger, which later concludes with a horrible event that changes the whole course of their lives: the

impact of the death of their beloved son, Samir, who is killed in a fight at school. Before getting murdered, Samir tries to talk to Reese to become best friends again, but then, Reese acts as if Samir was bothering him, and Reese's friends beat and bully him to death.

After Samir's death, Mandira is physically and mentally broken and starts blaming Khan for the death of his beloved son. She thinks Khan's religion is the root of the problems in their life.

Mandira, confronts Khan, and in a sarcastic way, she tells him to tell the president that he is not a terrorist. After that, Khan is seeking for a meeting with the president, to talk to him in the name of his people. In this long journey Rizwan Khan, always stays with the same goal in his mind, and keeps his strong desire to break any barrier that obstructs his mission of finding the president. He faces many kinds of problems, such as saving the lives of a group of black people in a hurricane, defending the president of a group of Muslims and suffering from a big misunderstanding that leads to him, being tortured in jail. Later on, a news reporter investigates the matter and finds out that Khan is completely innocent and he is free as a bird, again. Some other things happen along the way, until he finally meets the President and has a small chat with him. Khan tells the president that he is not the terrorist, and the president understands what he's been through, since the 9/11 accident happened.

At the end, Khan is a great example of perseverance, and the story has a strong message of fighting for what you want in life, even if you have physical of mental impediments, it's important to follow your dreams and becoming who you want to be, no matter what will happen or where will it end. I liked the movie because it showed me and inspired me to fight for what I desire to become in life. Khan is a great example of a fighter.
