Hennessey nails 2nd straightwin, pounds Pawhuska 51-12By Michael SwisherKT-FP Managing Editor

Hennessey had to endure six losses before it could pick up its first win this season.

It only had to wait six more days to get its second.

The Eagles dominated every aspect of the contest Thursday night as they won their second straight game with a 51-12 blowout at home against Pawhuska.

The victory upped Hen-nessey’s mark to 2-6 overall and 2-2 in District 2A-1. The Eagles’ Week 9 home finale against Newkirk very well could decide their play-off fate.

The fate of this game was decided early.

They scored 30 first-quar-ter points and had scored all 51 before the mid-point of the second.

Less than two minutes in, Hennessey gobbled up Pawhuska’s Cade McNeil for a five-yard loss and a safety and the blowout had begun.

The defense forced four turnovers, including a 36-yard fumble recovery for a score by Aidan Craun in the first.

Quarterback Zane Hug-aboom ran for a 35-yard touchdown and also threw a 35-yard score to Adrian Guadarama.

After putting 23 points on the board, Hennessey got Dillon Joyce going. He scored their next three touchdowns on runs of 68, 8 and 64 yards.

He finished the night with 194 yards rushing on just nine carries.

As a team, Hennessey ran for 252 yards against just 53 for Pawhuska.
