MY LIFE PROJECT – MY WORTH 4 05 June 2014

MY LIFE PROJECT - MY WORTH The “MY LIFE PROJECT” encompasses five things we need to reach Allah!!

1. My mirror

2. Paradise in my heart

3. Thorns on my path

4. 20/20 vision

5. My worth

In our Life Project journey we have talked about the self, paradise in the heart, the fitna, the vision

etc. but there is something important in this journey beyond all these and this is our value. I know

myself, I have the paradise, peace within my heart, I know the thorns in my way and I have a clear

vision but I need to know...

What is my value, my worth?

Ma keemati? keemati fi kalbihi!!! – My heart

The value of the human being lies with the heart. With our hearts we can know Allah, be closer to

Allah; our heart is the one which will be acceptable or not, that is, our deeds will be accepted or not

based on what we have in the heart. It is the place of obedience!!!

The need of the heart

haajati kalbi ila maerufatiallah wa asmaaihi wa siwafatihi wa af’aalahi -The heart, the need of the

heart is to know Allah, His names, His attributes and His actions is


Aadamu min hajati l badani ila taemi wa sharab - greater than the need of the body for food or

drink. Nothing can satisfy the heart when it is thirsty or hungry, because the heart keeps the body

going in the duniya and akhiraat and the needs of the heart are greater than the needs of the body.

Nisbat hajatihil kalbi ilal imaan - The percentage of how much your heart needs the faith, needs the

belief as compared to the percentage of wa hajati lil badani ila taemi wa sharab - the food and drink

needed by the body is actually comparable to jabal -a mountain and ad dirat - an atom or al bahar -

an ocean to al katar -a drop. We need to focus on feeding our hearts rather than feeding our bodies.

The need of the heart is like an ocean/mountain as compared to the needs of the body which is like

a drop/atom. We need to feed the heart with faith. That is why faith is important and we need to

focus on increasing the faith.

The consequences... If the heart believes what are the consequences?


li dalika idea aman al kalb –We need to feed the heart with faith. The place of the belief is in the

heart, not the mind or body. Bait ul iman – the ‘house of the faith’ is the heart!!!

What does Allah give to the believing hearts?

How does Allah deal with those who believe in Him? What does He give to the believing hearts?

Akram Allah kalbahu bieashri karamati – Allah will honour our hearts with ten karamat – things. Our

value with Allah is our heart. We deal with Allah with our hearts and in return Allah will put things in

our heart. Our relationship with Allah is according to the faith in our heart. The more we believe in

Allah, believe in His Names, His Attributes and Actions, the stronger our relationship is with Him.

He honours them with 10 karamaath:

ياة (1 ح ال

Al hayat – life - He gives them the life of the heart

Evidence: Al Anaam: 122 Is he who was dead and We have raised him unto life, and set for him a

light wherein he walketh among men, as him whose similitude is in utter darkness whence he

cannot emerge? Thus is their conduct made fairseeming for the disbelievers.

There is no comparison between the one who is alive and has a light and the one who is dead and is

in darkness. Allah will give our hearts the light if we believe in Him subhana wa tallah, if we trust

Allah, believe in Him, in His attributes, His names, His mercy.

فاء (2 ش ال

As shifa – cures - He cures their heart

Evidence: At Taubah: 14 - Fight them! Allah will chastise them at your hands, and He will lay them

low and give you victory over them, and He will heal the breasts of folk who are believers.

Allah will give you the life of the heart and the cure for the heart.

طهارة (3 ال

At thahara – purity -He gives them the purity of the heart

Evidence: Al Hujuraat: 3 - Lo! they who subdue their voices in the presence of the Messenger of


Allah, those are they whose hearts Allah hath proven unto righteousness. Theirs will be forgiveness

and immense reward.

The heart will be pure; free from any kinds of sicknesses because Allah has tested/proven their

hearts for taqwa, Allah has made their heart deserve taqwa, and Allah will grant them forgiveness

and reward them.

ة (4 هداي ال

Al hidaya – The guidance. He guides their heart

Evidence: At Taghabun: 11 - No calamity befalleth save by Allah's leave. And whosoever believeth in

Allah, He guideth his heart. And Allah is Knower of all things.

If we believe in Allah; Allah will guide the heart. If we don’t believe in Allah the heart will be lost.

Really we need our heart to have faith.

بات (5 ث ال

As sabaat – Firmness. He gives them the firmness of faith

Evidence: Al Mujadila: 22 -Thou wilt not find folk who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those

who oppose Allah and His messenger, even though they be their fathers or their sons or their

brethren or their clan. As for such, He hath written faith upon their hearts and hath strengthened

them with a Spirit from Him, and He will bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow,

wherein they will abide. Allah is well pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him. They

are Allah's party. Lo! is it not Allah's party who are the successful.

If the heart believes in Allah, it will be firm and stable. Allah will prescribe and ordain for the heart to

be firm. The faith will not be erased. It will be a believing heart all the time.

As sakinah – tranquillity. He gives them the tranquillity in their hearts

Evidence: Al Fath: 4 - He it is Who sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) into the hearts

of the believers, that they may grow more in Faith along with their (present) Faith. And to Allah

belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise.

Subhanallah, we are taking the evidence from the Quran as to what advantages Allah will give the

heart when it believes. If we believe with our heart then it will affect our life, all these karamath will

affect our lives. We will attain the life, the tranquillity etc.

When the heart believes, it is as-sakinah –the heart will be tranquil, if your heart is tranquil, it will be

in paradise, you will be happy and peaceful. Allah puts Sakina fi kulub al mu'minin - Allah descends

the tranquillity in the hearts of the believers.

The more you believe the more tranquil you will be.

When the sakina comes to the heart what is the consequence?

Li as dadu imanu naha wa imanihim.. - If you are a believer Allah will bring the peace and tranquillity

in the heart; and as a result of this tranquillity Allah will bring an increase in faith. When the heart is

not tranquil, we will find we cannot increase the faith easily but when it is tranquil we will see an

easy increment in faith. This is another advantage when the heart believes.

Al Ulfa- the familiarity. He unites the hearts of the believers. The bond, unity and familiarity

between the believers is from Allah alone!

Evidence: Al Anfal: 63 - And (as for the believers) hath attuned their hearts. If thou hadst spent all

that is in the earth thou couldst not have attuned their hearts, but Allah hath attuned them. Lo! He

is Mighty, Wise.

For the believers, Allah subhana wa tallah unites their hearts. They will be familiar with other

believers. They will feel as if they have known each other for a long time. If you are a believer you

will click/ have an affinity/connection as soon as you see another believer even if you have never

met before.

The click of the heart is not because of the same background or similar things but it is because of the

faith.

Allah subhana wa tallah has told us that we can do anything, spend the wealth of whole duniya to


try and unite two people etc. but nothing can unite or connect them except Allah and this is through

the belief. When we believe it connects us with other believers, and it increases us in faith and

increases others around us in faith.

When we look at al ulfa the familiarity and connection between people it is a consequence and

karamat of faith.

نة (8 ي طمأن ال

At tu maneenat - the peace/at rest. Those who believe in Him, remember Him all the time,

and this gives them the peace within

Evidence: Ar Rad 28 - Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah.

Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!

The heart is in peace. Those who believe and their heart is in peace by the remembrance of Allah,

they will be given the peace of the heart by Allah. Allah will give your heart peace. When you

remember Allah, that is, when you believe in Allah, when you trust Allah, the heart finds the peace,

and you will find the peace of the heart (given by Allah).

Al muhabba – the love. He gives them the love and sweetness of faith

نة (10 زي ال

Az zeenat – the adornment. He adorns the faith in their hearts

Evidence for point 9 + 10: Al Hujuraat: 7: And know that the messenger of Allah is among you. If he

were to obey you in much of the government, ye would surely be in trouble; but Allah hath

endeared the faith to you and hath beautified it in your hearts, and hath made disbelief and

lewdness and rebellion hateful unto you. Such are they who are the rightly guided.


Al muhabba love and az zeenat – adornment.

These are the other two karamath which Allah gives when you believe. In the second part of the

ayat, Allah says hababal ilahi kuumul eiman - Allah will grant the love of the faith in your heart.

When you believe in Allah, He will put the love of eiman in your heart .You will find halawat fil eiman

– the sweetness of the faith and Allah will adorn the heart, it will be beautified and Allah subhana

wa tallah will give the believing heart the karamath.

The more you increase your faith in Allah, the more He will give your heart ->>

Karamath lil kalb idaa iman - Allah will give

the believing heart ten karamath:

1)Life

2)The cure

3)The purity

4)The guidance

5)The firmness

6)The tranquillity

7)Connected/ familiarity

8)The peace

9)The love

10)And the adornment

All of these are the karamath which Allah

will give if the heart believes.


Reflect:

It is the need of the heart which is more important than the need of the body.

When the heart believes Allah will give ten karamath:

Life;

The cure;

The purity;

The guidance;

The firmness;

The tranquillity;

Connected/ familiarity;

The peace;

The love;

And the adornment.

The life, the cure, the purity, the guidance, the firmness, the tranquillity, the unity and bond with

other believers, the peace, the love and adornment of the heart.

The important questions are: How will I be standing in front of Allah? What is my value in front of

Allah? Just focus your life in increasing your faith in Allah, and your life will change as it will be

fragranced with all above karaamath from Allah!

Now our focus is the faith because this is the food for the heart.
