The Wine Glass of Archbishop James HayesShow and Tell on an Ermino Family treasureby Andrea Alexa Joan V.Ermino
1What is a treasure?jewels and precious objects: wealth, especially in the form of jewels and precious objects, often accumulated or hoarded.something valuable: something of great value or worth.
What is a Wine Glass? In the late1920s, new technology allowed manufacturers to produce appealingglassware with little expense and with no handwork. In fact, this glassware, known asDepression glass, was so cheap and easy-to-make that in the '30s.Like vintage Depression glassware, most elegant glass featured intricate, pretty designs on its surfaces, usually of flowers or tree branches. In those years, wine glasses are NOT egg-shaped yet. Instead it looks a bit more open like what we know now as a goblet.
