• The origin of my last name can be traced all the way back to the year 1250 in Spain, when the Hebrews stablished in Castilla.

• Before 1250, there where no rights for jews to stablish in Spain, but during the rule of Alfonso the wise (1252-1284) he accepted jews in his court and allowed them to live in Spain and practice their religion.

• Benegas , is actually, Ben Egas, Egas is the true lastname, Ben means “the son of” or “the house of” in Hebrew.

• For example, we all remember Ben Hur right? He was the son of Hur and appears in the New Testament.

• After hundreds of years of living with the locals, “sharing cookies and milk”, Benegas became a very common Spanish lastname.

• My family can be traced all the way back to the year 1800 in Argentina, unfortunetaly, the records and pictures of most of the family remain in the house where they stablished, almost 211 years ago, in San Javier, Cordoba.

• No one in my actual family knows why did my great grandfather Miguel Angel Benegas came to Argentina but if you actually think about it, Spain always sucked, no matter what time or year in history they where always the most backward and problematic country in Europe.

• My grandfather’s name was Miguel Angel Benegas, and so was his father before him and so forth, this was a family tradition, the first born was named like his father, this tradition ended in 1985 when my elder brother (my dad’s first born) was named Hernan Emanuel Benegas instead of Miguel Angel Benegas.

• My grandfather moved from San Javier to Capital Federal after marrying my grandmother in 1959, and then in 1960 my father was born. Grandfather Miguel worked for the Armada Argentina, he was a technician and worked in the maintenence department untill receiving honorable discharge in 1982.

• My dad met my mother while studying in Law school in the year 1983, before that he was a “Dragoniante” in 1978 (Highest military rank while doing the “colimba”) and then “Teniente primero” untill the year 1990.

• In 1988 my other brother Gustavo Gabriel Benegas was born and so my parents move from Capital Federal to Ezeiza, to the house where I currently live.

• My name is Diego Alan Benegas, Im 21 years old and I was born in the year 1990 on the 23rd of February in Lomas de Zamora, Argentina.

• Im a student and also a musician, I play the guitar and vocals in a band named QuickFire Deus Sol Invictus (from latin: The Invincible Sun God) .
