LAW IN MALAYSIA (ROAD TRANSPORT ACT 1987)
Section 45G of the Road Transport Act 1987:―prescribed limit means—
(a) 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath;(b) 80 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood; or(c) 107 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of urine.
Section 44 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987:―incapable of having proper control because of intoxica ng liquor or exceed prescribed limits and causing injury or death :(a) Jail time 3‐ 10 years; (b) Fine RM8000 (USD2000) – RM20000 (USD 5000); and (c) Unqualified for driving license 5 years (1 st time), 10 years 2nd time from date of conviction.

Section 45
‐targeted at people who is in charge of a vehicle when they are intoxicated or have alcohol above the prescribed limit. ‐
In charge of vehicle = For example, a very drunk guy is sitting in his car in a parked position, and not driving it.
If a police officer finds him in this situation that he’s not fit to drive,, the guy can be liable under section 45.

Section 45A‐targeted at people who is driving or in charge of a vehicle when they have alcohol above the prescribed limit. ‐
In charge of vehicle = For example, a very drunk guy is sitting in his car in a parked position, and not driving it.
If a police officer manages to make the guy take a breathalyzer test and his alcohol levels are way off the charts, the guy can be liable under section 45A.

Section 45 B‐Breath Test‐‐ The cops can arrest you in if you fail the breath test or refuse to participate in breath test.
‐ Failure to provide a breath specimen when required will net you a fine between RM 1,000 (USD 250) and RM 6,000 (USD 1500) and jail time of up to 12 months for the first offence.
‐ Subsequent offences will result in a fine between RM 2,000 (USD500) and RM 10,000 (USD 2500) and imprisonment of up to 2 years.
