I am a very competent, reliable and ambitious individual and I believe I can take these qualities into the workplace. I achieved a 2:1 degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds and my ambition is to put those skills learnt there into a multimedia news and sports journalism and commentary career.

Previous Employment and Work Experience

-December 2016-present: ICS Media Freelance Football Commentator

Currently I commentate on off tube studio commentary of Premier League, Champions League and Europa League games which are then supplied to online bookmakers such as Bet365 and to English speaking radio stations around the world.

-September 2016-present: HITC.com Writers Academy

Currently I contribute football articles to hitc.com, which gets over 13 million unique users per month. I do them on a various number of clubs and topics, ranging from reporting news items to more in depth feature pieces.

-August 2016-present: Radio Yorkshire Technical Operator

My job is to liaise with presenters, to make sure the shows go smoothly and the right audio is played out and then while the commentary is happening I have to clip together highlights and post them on social media after the game. I also arrange for fans to come on after games using the radio phone in system. This is a high pressure job which I feel I can cope with. I also operate the phone in system for those shows.

-August 2016-present: BBC Look North Technical Assistant

For this role I was asked to log the coverage of all the Olympic athletes from Yorkshire and make highlights reels for each of them. I had to sound mix and make sound editorial decisions with regard to the recordings of each sport (some of them clashed). I had to work to a strict deadline but I managed to never miss out on anything.

-July 2016: teamtalk.com Writer

In this placement I was asked to write articles for teamtalk.com on transfer rumours and stories. I used my online written skills from university to great effect on the website.

-March 2016-present: LiveSportsFM Football Commentator

Currently I am a voluntary football commentator for Live Sports FM, which is an online sports radio station. I have done England youth games before and I feel like my research beforehand and taking influence from big name commentators really helped me for this. I hope to do some more games in the future.

-February 2016: talkSPORT Production Assistant

During my week at talkSPORT, I worked as part of the production team for the Hawksbee and Jacobs mid-afternoon show. I edited clips for features, made phone calls to prospective guests and learnt how to operate the phone in system. This was a great experience as it helped me experience what goes on at a national station as opposed to a local one. Furthermore, it was wholly sports orientated which is my biggest passion.

-May 2015-July 2015: Radio Aire Journalist

This placement was undertaken on general election night and then again a few weeks later as part of my degree. I did vox pops, script writing and came up with ideas for broadcast. I also did quite a bit of sports coverage which was praised during this placement, including interviewing Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott.

I was also been a keen member of both Leeds Student TV and Leeds Student Radio while at university. During my time at LSTV I presented, produced, filmed and edited a variety of different projects. I participated in my own food challenge series and I also interviewed three Leeds Rhinos players after their 2015 treble victory. My best achievement though was winning the Highly Commended Best Light Entertainment show for “Come Dan With Me” as the on screen-personality. I presented and appeared as a panellist on a wide variety of sports shows at LSR.
