RAMPAUL’S RUNDOWN

The year is certainly going fast. I cannot believe we are approaching our last educational meeting before we break for the summer. Hopefully when we resume our meetings in the fall, we can do so in person. It is too soon to tell, but I can hope. This month’s meeting is on a very hot topic, “Preservatives That Are Used in Cosmetics” presented by David Steinberg, President of Steinberg & Associates, Inc. Not only does David have

an extensive background in academia and the cosmetic sciences, but he is also a Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Merit Award recipient (1985), a Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Fellow (1987), and a Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, Fellow (2009). We are excited and honored to have David present at this month’s virtual meeting on Tuesday, May 11 at 4:00pm.

There is more fun to come. We will be hosting a socially distanced “Fishing and Fellowship” outing on Friday, June 11, 3:00-8:30pm at Patriots Park, Downers Grove, IL. If you aren’t interested in fishing, please still come as the idea is to get out and have a little fun. Be on the lookout for registration information. I hope you will join us for our first in-person event in over a year. I know I’m excited to see you all. Also, our Fall Technical Symposium “The New Normal,” October 12, will be here before we know it. If you are interested in being a speaker at this event, please keep an eye out for the Call for Speakers coming in a few weeks. We are also seeking student poster presentations. Would you be interested in attending this event in person? If so, reach out and let us know via our Survey Monkey.

At the Society of Cosmetic Chemist, we are always looking for opportunities to connect our members and National has made it easier to do so. If you are seeking employment or looking to fill a position, please visit the new SCC Career Center. The Career Center is open to all SCC members. Positions can be posted as well as internships. To access, log into the SCC Portal, under Member Resources, select Career Center. Did you know you can also access the searchable Member Directory under Member Resources? There are many resources available to our members, I hope you take advantage of them.

“See” you soon.
