Huawei’s smartphone brand Honor announced a
significant expansion in its mobile device offerings with
two new devices that they hope will compete with rivals
such as HTC and Samsung. The Honor 6+, an upgraded
version of the Honor 6 device, delivers more detailed,
richer images with a unique bionic parallel 8MP
camera. Whilst the mid-range 4X was unveiled as
Honor’s first 4G smartphone.

Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
claiming that they were the most advanced
smartphones in the world, with capabilities no other
device can match. The Galaxy S6 Edge won the Best
New Handset, Device or Tablet Award at MWC15 seeing
off strong competition from HTC and LG. The S6 Edge
with its ‘three-sided screen’ and more subtle curved
edges is the next generation to the Galaxy Note Edge.

In the absence of a massive flagship launch at MWC, Sony opted for revealing a mid-range product in the Xperia
M4 Aqua. Sony is hoping the premium design will be enough to convince users they’re getting a premium device at a
lower cost with clever screen technology and a similar look to the high end Xperia Z3.

MICROSOFT LAUNCHED LUMIA 640 AND 640XL
The Microsoft Lumia 640 was announced, Microsoft’s latest foray into the midrange market along with the phablet
sized Lumia 640 XL the bigger brother of the Lumia 640. Both phones will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 chipset
and initially launch Windows 8.1 but with intention to bring them and other modern Lumias to Windows 10.

Yes, Nokia is seemingly still alive. The Nokia N1 launched last year in China has been hard to come by until MWC
where the Nokia Android tablet was showcased. It has a slender profile, unibody aluminium shell and an eye
catching display, plus it has recently been updated to Android Lollipop. Nokia has provided a stylish Android tablet
with a passing resemblance to the iPad Mini.

HTC ANNOUNED GRIP, ITS FIRST WEARABLE FITNESS TRACKER
HTC announced its first wearable product following partnership with sportswear company Under Armour. HTC
Grip, a GPS-enabled fitness tracker, will record your route, distance, pace and calories. With a matte black finish,
colour interior band and curved display, the Grip looks like a hybrid of Nike’s FueldBand2 and the Microsoft Band.
HTC is hoping for mass appeal with its first big fitness device.

LG showcased its luxury 4G-enabled smartwatch the LG Watch Urbane and LG Watch Urbane LTE which the
business hopes will be worn and viewed by consumers as everyday accessories, rather than electronic gadgets. This
is evident in the design highlighting how smartwatches are evolving to look more like traditional watches.

Huawei’s Talkband N1 and Talkband B2 are fitness trackers with a twist. Talkband N1 is a wireless Bluetooth
headset with a built-in accelerometer that syncs with Huawei’s Talkband app so you don’t have to wear a fitness
band. Talkband B2 is a more traditional fitness tracker but with the addition of a Bluetooth headset embedded
within the band that can pop out.
