Mutualism, Parasitism,
Commensalism

Mutualism
• Mutualism- interaction between two or more species where both species benefit from one another
• Example- • Clownfish and Sea• Anemone (protection)
![Page 3: Mutualism, Parasitism, Commensalism. Mutualism Mutualism- interaction between two or more species where both species benefit from one another Example-](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022072010/56649dc55503460f94ab8363/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Parasitism
• Parasitism- is the interaction between two organisms, in which one organism (the parasite) benefits and the other (the host) is harmed.
• Example- Hookworm and humans. It attachesto the small intestine andtakes your nutrients!

Commensalism• Commensalism-interaction between two
organsisms where one benefits and the other is not affected.
• Example- Sea Cucumberand pearl fish. The pearl fish reproduces inside the sea cucumber and as an adult enters to hide from prey.

Pollution and Conservation
• Pollution- the release of environmental contaminants.
![Page 6: Mutualism, Parasitism, Commensalism. Mutualism Mutualism- interaction between two or more species where both species benefit from one another Example-](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022072010/56649dc55503460f94ab8363/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
What are the causes of pollution?
• Car emissions
• Construction dust
• Gas powered lawn mowers
• Burning Fossil Fuels
• Rapid Growth
• Heat (makes the particles rise)

How can you conserve?
• Conservation- movement seeking to protect plant and animal species as well as the habitats they live in.
• Fuel Economy- Hybrids
• Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
