Muslim religion in Indonesia

The Muslim religion was first introduced into Indonesia by Arab Muslim traders In the 8th century but only began to really spread in the 13th century. It continued to reach people because some of the rulers of the time became Muslim.

In 2010 in Indonesia there was approximately 85.1% were Muslims (Shias and Sunni), 12.7% Christians, 1.8% Hindu, 0.4% Buddhist and other or unspecified. Indonesia also has a larger Muslim population than any other country in the world, with approximately 202.9 million identified as Muslim .

In the Muslim religion girls are expected to were a hijab and are not allowed to were sateen cloths but boys are allowed to chose.

Muslim people pray five times a day to show loyalty, gratitude and modesty people don’t find it hard to pray 5 times a day because it only takes a few minutes to do.

Not much has change in traditions besides for more being added they still have the traditional music ,dance ,martial arts, Poetry and all the other at art formes but they have also added Eid and Ramadan
