A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like

to see African-Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return

to the Jim Crow era.

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said

at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens”

and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and

me ... hanging on a tree.”

Carson also said the tea party is stopping

change in Congress, likening it to “the effort

that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.”

The explosive comments, caught on tape,

were uploaded on the Internet Tuesday, and

Carson’s office stood by the remarks. Jason

Tomcsi, Carson’s spokesman, said the

comment was“in response to frustration voiced by many in Miami and in his home district in

ndianapolis regarding Congress’s inability to bolster the economy.” Tomcsi, in an email,

wrote that “the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes

our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing.

“The Tea Party is protecting its millionaire and oil company friends while gutting critical services

that they know protect the livelihood of African-Americans, as well as Latinos and other

disadvantaged minorities,” Tomcsi wrote. “We are talking about child nutrition, job creation, job

training, housing assistance, and Head Start, and that is just the beginning. A child without basic

nutrition, secure housing, and quality education has no real chance at a meaningful and

productive life.”

Carson is hardly the first lawmaker to use heated rhetoric. Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) yelled

“you lie

”as President Barack Obama was addressing Congress. Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-

Texas) yelled “baby killer” at former Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) as abortion was being

discussed during the health care debate.

Carson, who represents Indianapolis, is the second Muslim to ever serve in Congress. He has

been in office since 2008 and took the seat that was held by his late grandmother — Democratic

Rep. Julia Carson.

The CBC's HATE SPEECH has gone too far. This from an organization that prohibits elected black

representatives from joining if they don't pas s the CBC's political litmus test.

Rep. Carson should be Censured.

Perhaps Jake Sherman's pieces should be labeled "Opinion" at the top, so as not to be confused with

news. And btw, it has been reported that that Rep. Wilson wasn't all together incorrect regarding the funding

issue.

Decent people are getting sick of hearing this race-baiting crap! It is just not working for you anymore. We

are all in trouble and face a very bleak future in this country.

The Congressional Black Caucus is becoming a caracature of itself. These people are bankrupt o f anyrational ideas and are basically insignificant except for a comical headline or two now and then.

"The nature of the encroachment upon American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more

encroaching. Like a cancer; it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the

pensioners urge for more revenue. The people grow less steady, spirited and virtuous, the seekers more

numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and expectants, until

virtue, integrity, public spirit, simplicity and frugality become the objects of ridicule and scorn, and vanity,

luxury, foppery, selfishness, meanness, and downright venality swallow up the whole of society."

Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a

democracy yet that did not commit suicide.

"...jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic

standing...."

The way to improve their economic standing is to quit relying on the government to provide everything for

them. That is what a plantation does. Instead go out and find employment, jobs do not come to you, you

have to go and find the jobs.

Wow. A little moral equivalence? Comparing "you lie" with "love to see us...hanging from a tree" as equally

'heated rhetoric'?

Politico, as always, "fair and balanced"...

And there you have it folks. Those that bleat the most are the guilty ones indeed.

The Tea Party may have some stupid people in it to be sure. But this is the pure example of blatant

progressive racism that has been rampant in the US since these 'Jim Crow' days.

The only ones hold back 'minorities' are the progressive movements and the minorities themselves. This is

the real reason why Clarence Thomas, Joseph Meeks, Alan West, Condoleeza Rice, Herman Cain, are

looked upon poorly. Because, they dare rose above and beyond where the masters of progressives had setthe bar.

Don't like hearing the truth? Tough. Naysay and deride me all you want. This will only hurt you all, not me.

This poor soul just provides additional proof that Herrnstein and Murray were correct. Too bad. You'd have

thought that this might have been corrected by now. Of course, Democrats want it to continue, for political

purposes.

"It is precisely this clinging to victimhood as a means of demonstrating one’s virtue and advancing one’s

well-being that has led us into a society in which welfare and quotas are “civil rights,” government handouts

are “entitlements,” and payment to girls having babies out of wedlock are “compassionate,” while hard-working, ambitious people are “greedy,” punishment of crime is “oppression,” and an independent thinker

who stands for courage and self-reliance is dismissed as an “Uncle Tom.”

I would say that Carson is PROJECTING - and in fact that in his shallow, racist little mind it's exactly the

other way around.

Really? Are the Democrats this desperate? Are their collective fortunes looking that grim in the 2012

elections? It must be a rosy world where elected officials can blurt out anything they want with no regard for

factual evidence, and not have to fear any repercussions. There is absolutely no proof, zero, that there is any

shred of racially motivated bias in the Tea Party. The Dems have tried this tactic over, and over with no

success. The simple fact of the matter is that the Tea Party scares the hell out of them because it actually

represents what the people care about, and that terrifies the left.
