Concept/Idea There will be two different narratives. One will be of the actual scene of

all 3 artists lip syncing to the track and the other narrative is of the female artist having some sort of an argument with 1 of the male actors.

The argument will obviously relate to the lyrics therefore they will be arguing about ‘sex’, ‘should of put something on’.

The main narrative where the artists lip sync to the music will be performed at a rooftop in central London.

At the beginning of the track, there is a spare 15 seconds before the lyrics of the song take place therefore within that 15 seconds we were thinking to try and introduce the artists one by one through a panning camera movement revealing them to the audience along with their names and this will be edited using Adobe After Effects.

We will also be filming certain shots at the studio rooms for a better lighting effect and clean white background.

The editing will be very clean and creative for example one idea is that we will have audio synced flashes so the screen will flash according to the speed of the beats.

Inspirations

One of our inspiration came from the video ‘Geko featuring Jay Souls – Mommy’. This music video were standards we as students can achieve with not too much over editing although this simple basic fades do provide a very good effect on the video considering the lyrics and the theme of the music video. The track we have chosen as a group has a different meaning and connotation to the audience so the basic fades will be very useful representing sad and unhappy moments.

Our second inspiration came from the music video ‘Dappy – No Regrets’. This music video inspired our location choice as it implies a nice gentle tone to it which slowly develops into a more hyper and active video as the lyrics become more expressive. Our video distinguishes from Dappys music video as our choice of track is more of a meaningful video towards teenagers. It has an impact on society as the chosen track refers to unprotected sex.

Casting/Actors and Props For the actors we have planned to carry out an audition for

performance students. Although we have a friend that is a performer, we decided that if she cannot get any people then we will do the audition and select the best actors.

We need 3 actors to participate in our music video one of which has to be a girl and 2 boys.

We will carry out auditions for performers and the best 3 will be selected and we will obviously arrange a day when they will be free to perform at our video shoot. This date will be confirmed by both the actors and the production team.

We will be using props such as a pillow and this will be used to throw at the man after the argument. This is a vital prop as it allows the audience to reflect back on the lyrics and the title of the song ‘should of put something on’ and how arguments lead to fights and loneliness if a condom is not used.

Location We thought of having our video

recorded on the rooftop after looking through some of the music produced by the members of N Dubz. Our inspiration came from Dappys ‘No Regrets’

As a group we have decided to have the music video take place on a rooftop to create originality and a sense of freedom considering the lyrics

There will be some ethical considerations as we will need to get permission to film the video at the location however this will depend on where exactly the rooftop will be

We have also decided to film some of the video in the studio room for certain effects and lighting. We will book the studio room as soon as possible to get the hard video shooting out the way and to focus more on the detailed recording.

Our rooftop location will be located in Central London as many tourist attractions such as the London eye can be viewed as background imagery

Length and Audience The length of the music video will depend on the length of

the track. The track is 3 minutes and 36 seconds long. The audience that we have targeted this video to is for

teenagers. This video is related to unprotected sex and with teenagers growing older and being able to do whatever they wish, the lyrics affect them mostly. The age boundary for the music video is from 15-20. we have chosen this specific boundary as those under 15 are too early to know about unprotected sex and as they grow older, they will soon realise therefore this video is for teenagers and it acts like a warning tot hem alerting them of the consequences.
