music video evaluation e lodge
TRANSCRIPT
By Eleanor Lodge
My original idea was developed
from this shot, I filmed footage of
my friend in the bath, fully
clothed, as though she was
drowning. In post production
though, I realised that it was not in
context with the rest of the narrative
which was a tribute to The Hunger
Games film. I timed the change of
shots to the beat, taking inspiration
from these three videos.
Music videos: WILL.I.AM – Bang Bang
Halestorm – The Familiar Taste Of Poison
Thirty Seconds To Mars – The Kill (Bury Me)
• I feel my music video, poster and digipak fit together
nicely under The Hunger Games theme. I tried to create
a sense of the districts through the video itself, showing
the rebellion but through the poster and digipak, give a
sense of the Capitol, all wrapping up under the continent
of Panem, a futuristic continent set in North America.
• I asked people from between the ages of 15-67 of their
opinion on my music video. They feel it was very clear
and that the use of the Raster gave it the intended feeling
of being watched by a camera. They felt I expressed the
gothic nature of the song well, without making the video
dark and depressing.
• I used YouTube to find the song and see if any other
music videos had been done using the song.
• I used Google to research my artists music further.
• I used twitter to contact Lorde and ask for permission if I
could use the music.
• I used Word Press to publish a blog on the development
of the music video.
• I used a Sony HDR-CX570E
to film with.
• I used Imovie to edit the
footage of my video.
• I used PEP-Fotolr and
Colour Photo Edit to edit and
create the digipak and
poster.
