MUSIC PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT!
Dear Parent/Guardian, The 2nd and 3rd graders will have their concert on the big stage at the Newton HighSchool Auditorium (800 East 4th Street South)! Our program date is set forThursday, April
25th with staggered performance times.
2nd Grade: Arrive at 5:50 pm; Perform at 6:00 pm
3rd Grade: Arrive at 6:50 pm; Perform at 7:00 pm
We have staggered concert times to ensure that you can find a seat where you can easily
see your child. Because we split the times, we ask that 3rd grade parents not enter theauditorium until 2nd grade families have gone. The 2nd grade concert should last about 20
minutes so we should have more than enough time to get resituated. If 3rd grade families are
still entering at 7:00, we will wait to enter the stage, but this has not been a problem in the past.For the concert, I have told students to wear the best clothes they own. This is to
discourage them from wearing jeans, but help you avoid a need to purchase new clothes. Pleaseescort your child to the bathroom before allowing them to line up with their classes, and help usavoid the bathroom rush. Students should also give parents their coats, cell phones, and
belongings. Students will meet their teachers/helpers in the cafeteria underneath their designated
sign (2V, 3S, etc.) prior to the concert. Please note that staff will not be providing supervision inthe cafeteria until 5:50 and 6:50, respectively. At the end of the concert please plan for Mrs.
Sharp to dismiss the children from the stage in an orderly fashion. We need you to let your
childs teacher and/or helper know that they are safely with you. We want to avoid our young
students roaming freely through a large crowd of strangers. Students will have a rehearsal themorning of April 25th where they will be bussed to the high school for practice.
Students can also practice their concert songs using the same site we use during music

parts. It is very important that your child be in attendance.
