The Basilica’s day of prayer will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 on the traffic island across from Hartford GYN Center, 1 Main St, Hartford . You are asked to be there from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. We ask that you sign up for one or two hour blocks of time. The parish is also asked to have sign-up for adoration and prayer vigil at the Basilica during the same hours that the prayer vigil is taking place in Hartford.
Sign-up lists for both will be in the Adoration Chapel. Fr Robert Rousseau, the director of Pro-life activities for the Archdiocese has instructed that we are to use only 40 Days for Life signs, that we must stay on the traffic island, and that we are there to peacefully pray. If anyone has 40 Days for Life signs, please notify Kathy Upson, coordinator for the Basilica for 40 Days for Life at [email protected] or 203-910-3868.
World Mission Sunday Collection Next Weekend
Next week, we will take up the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports the Church in over 20 countries, many of which are still struggling to recover in the aftermath of Soviet rule. Funds from this collection support pastoral care, catechesis, building renovations, and seminary formation. Your support restores the Church and builds the future in this region. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection next week. More information can be found at www.usccb.org/ccee.
We are very grateful to our brothers and sisters at Mary Mother of the Church parish for the September collection for the Pope Francis Center for Renewal!
Rosary Rally celebrates 100 years since Fatima The Rally took place on October 1 at the Basilica. Pictured are parishioners from the Archdiocese who prayed the Rosary while processing around the Waterbury Green.

What is Giving Tuesday?... Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday…..created in 2012 in re-sponse to the shopping frenzy of the holidays, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving meant to en-
courage, celebrate and support a season of giving. Celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, this year November 28, peo-ple are encouraged to participate by giving back to their local communities. This year Saint Mary School will be launching a Giving Tuesday campaign which will enable us to grow our programs and provide the needed classroom technology, tui-tion assistance for families in need, and professional develop-ment and materials to better grow our STREAM program. Please save the date and spread the word.

THANK YOU FROM SAINT MARY SCHOOL
On Wednesday, October 4, a fund-raiser was held to benefit several causes, including St. Mary School. Champagne and "Celebrity" Cupcakes was a great success and the children and staff of SMS would like to thank all those who helped
organize this event, especially our "celebrity" chefs, the committee and, of course, Beverly Bucari, who organized this event in memory of her late sister, Margaret P. Gold-berg. We appreciate the months of effort that went into this evening.
St. Mary School kindergarten class put on their chef hats to make homemade applesauce.
SMS students continue to pray for everyone in our world who have been impacted by the recent natural disasters and the horrible tragedy in Las Vegas.
