Cover stories- The cover story is used to try sell the magazine and try and stand out. Can be quotes from people on the front cover.

Exclusive- This is when there is more to say on the inside about gossip about new things.

Cover price- The cover price is used when selling the magazine and it will say how much it will cost. On this cover it has been cut out.

Text styles are content – This is used for if the text is in large or small or what type of font you use, and what its about. This magazines text is more large than small and has a white colour text.

Quality- The quality is how well it is presented because it needs to be good quality for it too sell. This magazine’s quality is good as it stands out and makes people want to buy it.

Layout- This is important because its when everything is all neatly set up or if its all squashed together, these are used to set the stage for how the magazine will be. The layout is more squashed together and clustered.

The average NME target audience is 24, the main types of people that read NME magazine is around 65% and they are known as the middle class readers. 52% are people who work full time in jobs and part time people there is 7% with 29% are still in school/university or college. There is around 369,000 people that read NME magazines and around 69% of the people are male and 31% are female.The average price of the magazine is around £2.40 therefore they make the price pretty reasonable.

LANGUAGE This is the next page of the NME Magazine, it has a list of all bands that are in there and also has features and regulars. For a music magazine the text is more formal than informal and the purpose of this is to give the latest updates on the music. It also is help readers know how the bands are going on and what have happened to them. LAYOUT

The layout of NME magazine is designed really anarchistic, hip-hop and young this is done to try and get the reader interested by the front page and will make them want to read more. The masthead is put into capital letters and this is done to make it stand out more and that will make the reader get drawn into it and want to read more. The main image is the focus and is made large and in some case’s overlapping text around it. In this cover it is Dizzee Rascal and he is smiling and squashed up which shows that the words are bursting to come out therefore it could mean a lot of information/gossip in it and Dizzee Rascal is happy.
