WelcometotheSuburbanEastConferenceMusicFestivalOnbehalfofourninememberschools,wewelcomeyoutotheannualSuburbanEastConferenceMusicFestival.Thetopbands,choirs,andorchestrasfromourrespectiveschoolsspentthedayworkingwiththreeprominentmusicclinicians,polishingandperfectingtheirownmusicalskills,andlisteningtoperformancesbytheirpeersfromotherschools.TonightweconcludeourmusicfestivalwithaconcertthatfeaturesthefinestvocalandinstrumentalmusiciansintheSuburbanEastConference.WebelievethatthestudentsinourAll-ConferenceBand,Choir,andOrchestrarepresentsomeoftheverybesthighschoolmusiciansintheUnitedStates.ThisfestivalisoneofmanyactivitieshostedbytheSuburbanEastConferencethatpromotesthefinearts.Allninememberschoolsagreethatthefineartsareanintegralelementoftheeducationofachild.Thismusicfestivalisjustoneexampleofhowwearecommittedtothefinearts.ParkHighSchoolandRosevilleAreaHighSchoolarepleasedandproudtobeabletohosttheSuburbanEastConferenceMusicFestivalthisyear.Wehopeyouenjoytheperformance.

RoisumFoleyreceivedherBMinmusiceducationfromSt.OlafCollegeherMAincurriculumandinstructionfromtheUniversityofSt.ThomasandherPhDinMusicEducationandWindBandConductingfromtheUniversityofMinnesota,TwinCities.HermajorinstructorsincludeMaestroCraigKirchhoff,Dr.PaulHaackandDr.DavidTeachout.PriortoattendingtheUniversity,sheservedforsixyearsintheLakeville,MNPublicSchools.RoisumFoleyisthefounderoftheMinnesotaRiverValleyWindEnsemble,asemi-professionalvolunteerwindensemble,whosemissionistoperformthehighestlevelofwindbandandwindensemblerepertoire.Inaddition,sheservedforthreeyearsastheMusicDirectorfortheMankatoAreaYouthSymphonyOrchestraandisnowservingontheBoardofDirectors.RoisumFoleyhasservedontheBoardofDirectorsfortheMinnesotaMusicEducatorsAssociationandtheMinnesotaBandDirectorsAssociation.

Performer,conductorandcomposer,JeanRPerraultisDirectorofOrchestrasandAssociateProfessorofviolin/violaattheUniversityofMinnesotaDuluth(UMD).BorninPort-au-Prince,Haiti,heearnedhisMaster'sdegreeinperformancefromTempleUniversity.Rudyhas

conductednumerousensemblesincludingSinfoniettadeParis,theKareliaStateConservatoryOrchestra(Russia),theConservatoiredeParisregionBoulogne-Billancourt(Paris,France),membersoftheVincenzoBelliniConservatoryofPalermo(Sicily,Italy)andtheHacettepeConservatorySymphonyOrchestra(Ankara,Turkey).HismostrecenttriptookhimtoVenezuelawhereheworkedcloselywithmembersof"ElSistema"organizationconductingmasterclassesandworkshops.Heisafrequentpanelistonnationalandinternational,instrumentalandconductingcompetitions,andhasparticipatedinmanyprestigiousmusicfestivals.

Rudymaintainsanactivescheduleandhasperformedwithmanydifferentorganizations.HeisafoundingmemberandpresidentoftheKakoFoundation,anon-profitorganizationdedicatedtobringingclassicalmusictounderprivilegedyouthintheUSandHaiti.

ThepastseveralyearshehasbeeneditingandorchestratingthepianoworksofHaitianClassicalComposers.Hismostrecentcompositionsinclude:"BrotherMalcolm"–forcelloandpiano,"Exodus"forStringQuartet.Futureprojectsincludesettingtomusicthreepoemsofworld-renownauthorEdwidgeDanticat,composingaduoforviolinandcello(DialoguesforViolinandCello),asecondStringQuartetandaballet(CeremonieVodou).RudymakeshishomeinDuluth,Minnesota,withhiswifeElizabethandhistwochildrenEllaandAlexandre.
