gateway to France Classed as one of “100 loveliest detours in France”, Wissembourg is a charming town which has developed around the St. Peter and St. Paul abbey church, the 2nd biggest Gothic building in Alsace. Things to see and do: Tithe Barn, bath house, the bell ringer’s house, medieval stone and timber-framed houses, historic quarters (the Bruch in particular), a walk round the ramparts, the cabbage market square, guided tours on the tourist mini-train.
