Secure, scalable and reliable

The murphx South Coast Datacentre is one of the most secure colocation facilities in the UK. The site is guarded by 24x7 manned security with other features including anti-ram Vee Gates, gated pedestrian access, anti-climb fencing, perimeter and internal CCTV, access control and man-trap entries.

Security





The facility has a minimum of N+1 concurrently maintainable chiller plant and pump sets. It utilises leading edge Airedale “free cooling” devices with CRAC units fitted to the exterior of suites ensuring separation of water services.

Cooling





The facility receives resilient power feeds from two points on the National Grid, Southampton and Portsmouth. The feeds are resiliently delivered into separate transformers backed up by 2mW diesel generators. There is sufficient fuel to keep the site fully operational for up to 72 hours and battery backup to power the facility whilst the generators start.

Power





The facility has multi-stage Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) with an FM200 gas suppression system.

Fire Detection & Suppression





The facility has high power and cooling densities up to 25kW/100AMP per rack. Suites are constructed with fire rated steel clad wall panels. Internally the racking system in place allows high efficiency and management of cooling using aisle containment. The raised floor has a 12KN per square metre UDL rating.

The facility is a Tier III+ data-centre with numerous Tier IV aspects eg: diverse and disparate power, separate grid feeds, physical access security levels.

There are location based meeting room facilities available for hire. Should there be a more permanent requirement there are options to rent office space within the facility.
