Municipality of KulaMunicipality of Kula is located on the fertile plains of Western Bačka District of Vojvodina.It is located 132km away from Belgrade and 66km from border crossing with Hungary.The river Danube is situated 38 km (Port of Bogojevo -border crossing with Croatia)

Kula Municipality covers the area of 481 km². Out of total, agricultural land covers 43,348 ha i.e. 91.44% , dominant of meadow mould and carbonated soil.

• So far is provided EUR 800.000 for infrastructure equipment

• Following contents is planned for industrial zone: industrial and artisanal plants, storages, warehouses, etc.., which will be formed to develop the building parcels

Brownfield• In the municipality of Kula are former industrial giants such as

Factory Armature "Istra“ in bankruptcy, Leather Factory "Eterna“ in bankruptcy , manufactory of voolen fabrics AD "Kulski štofovi“ Kula in bankruptcy .

• Now with over 30,000 m2 of space in halls with secured infrastructure and facilities are the most significant brownfield sites.

BrownfieldObjects which are located on Brownfield sites include: production halls, storages, laboratories, administration buildings…

Each location includes a transformer station, the city water system, compressed air, connection for gas, heating, telecommunications, sewerage, access roads.

Great Backa CanalShort reminder•Construction of the Grand Canal began at year 1792., as one of the greatest works in contemporary Europe. With desire to secure the project's success, the Austro Hungarian Empire was first announced a public tender for the concession.• The works were completed at year 1801., the amount of excavated soil was the same as excavated soil from digging the Suez Canal and the Great Backa Canal was opened for traffic next year, 1802.

Current activities - Project for revitalization of the Grand Canal•After the construction of a central plant for waste water treatment from municipality Vrbas and Kula, will be start with cleaning of mud and revitalization of the Grand Canal, in order to improve the environment in the region Srbobran-Vrbas-Kula and thereby ensure the necessary conditions for the population's health and development of export-oriented industry and agriculture as well as tourism and water transportation.•It is anticipated that the construction of a central plant for waste water treatment lasts 18 months. The total project budget is 15 million euro.

• Project settlement sewage discharge pipe from Crvenka to Kula for connection to central waste water treatment plant in Vrbas is under construction• Project cost 1.5 million Euros• Requires a financially assistance for the implementation of the project.• When it is implemented, together with fecal collector and cleaner, will finally solve the pollution of the Grand Backa Canal and create conditions for cleaning that Canal.
