April’s kidnapping took place around 9:15 in the night. It was only when her mother entered her room and found out that April was nowhere to be seen.

April’s best friend, Theodore Boone, was the last person who spoke to April. Unlike any other kid, Theo is special since he has the skills of a professional lawyer.

Theo was called in by the police for questioning. But, in Theo’s mind, all he cared about was bringing back April.

Day went by with Theo thinking about April all day. In the meantime, the police were sweeping the whole city and trying to find April with, “SWAT teams, helicopters, dogs, and no shortage of manpower”(Grisham 64).

However, Theo thought that the police were doing nothing, “Maybe they need some help”(27.) It was at that moment Theo skipped school and went searching for April himself.

Theo created a search party to search for April. The group also began “passing out MISSING flyers and tacking them to utility poles. They inspected a few empty buildings and alleyways” (65).

Although Theo’s search party came back empty handed, Theo still had hope and was not going to give up to his best friend.

Instead of backing down, Theo had spent day and night trying to solve this mystery. Soon, he had his answer in sight.

After finding images of April on Facebook, the brave Theo brought back April and a friendship was reunited back again.
