Dec 9, HIKE: Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park—9:00 a.m. at trailhead. (Borrego Trailhead to Red Rock Canyon). This moderate 5-mile out and back trail begins near homes and then meanders through oak woodland and coastal sage scrub to the 100’ high red sandstone cliffs in Red Rock Canyon. The trail follows Borrego Canyon Creek to Mustard Trail and on to Red Rock Canyon. RSVP as noted above*. View directions at: retirees.uci.edu.

Dec 13, WALK: Bolsa Chica Wetlands South Parking Lot—10:00 a.m. (Note later start time.) This is a mostly flat 2 mile loop walk around the Wetlands on asphalt, dirt and sand paths. It is considered “easy.” Addi-tional route options are available throughout the wetlands. Please bring water, sun protection and binoculars. Parking is free. RSVP as noted above*. Dec 19, WALK: Balboa Lights Walk—6:15 pm. Back by popular demand, join us for a spirited walking tour of the colorful lights of Balboa Island homes with a stop for hot chocolate, coffee, tea, etc. Meet at the Bayside Shopping Center parking lot in front of the Union Bank Building. New Retiree ID Cards This card is your key to Continuing Services, many on- and off-campus discounts and coupons! The UCI Bookstore, will issue these ID Cards (M-F 8am to 6pm; Sa 11am to 5pm; Su Closed). This newer version is updated and wallet-sized. The first card is FREE for all new retirees and existing retirees who may wish to replace an older card. There is a fee for replacements thereafter.
