COURSE DESCRIPTION

Mucogingival surgery is an area of knowledge within Periodontology that is becoming increasingly relevant given the importance of soft tissues around both teeth and dental implants.

Periodontal and peri-implant health is related to the absence of inflammation, the loss of insertion, and an adequate quality and quantity of soft tissue.

Starting with periodontal or peri-implant state of health, today we have multiple techniques that allow one to improve or recover from mucogingival conditions and other problems.

To do this, we must know the etiology and classification of the mucogingival conditions around teeth and implants and then apply the clearest and most appropriate surgical technique.

This practical theoretical course coordinated and directed by the internationally renowned Professor Zucchelli and Dr. Stefanini will be directly applicable to daily clinical practice.

ADDRESSED TO:

DENTISTS AND PERIODONTISTS WITH PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN THE

FIELD OF MUCOGINGIVAL SURGERY WHO WANT TO LEARN IN DETAIL

ABOUT AND PRACTICE THE TECHNIQUES CHOSEN BY PROF. ZUCCHELLI

AND DR. STEFANINI TO RESOLVE MUCOGINGIVAL CONDITIONS IN TEETH

AND IMPLA.

OBJECTIVES

• Learn the etiology and classification of mucogingival conditions around teeth and implants.

• Describe coronal advancement techniques and bilaminar techniques for the treatment of single or multiple dental recessions.

• Address different mucogingival techniques for implant dehiscence and a combination of mucogingival techniques with immediate load implants.

• Apply practical surgical techniques on an animal model, with the support of explanatory videos.

METHODOLOGY

It is a practical theoretical course distributed among diagnostic theory, etiology. and description of different surgical techniques with clinical videos about teeth and implants, plus a practical section with videos and hands-on practice using pig jaws under the direct supervision of the speakers. The course takes place over two full days: all day Friday and Saturday until 5:30pm. The first day will deal with diagnosis, etiology and surgical procedures. On the second day, surgical treatments for implants will be looked at, ending with hands-on practice on pig jaws and viewing of practical videos on surgery.

COURSE ADVANTAGES

The course offers the opportunity to interact with and learn from internationally renowned speakers in the field of mucogingival surgery and to put all the theoretical concepts learned into practice during the hands-on workshop.
