MTILP, Inc. hosted its 3rd Paint Nite Fundraiser event on January 15th 2016. The previ-ous events were in January of 2015 and November of 2014. This event was much like the ones before, however the 3rd times the charm when it comes to planning and pre-paring. We had a silent auction with 27 items, which raised $920.00. Drink & food tick-ets brought in just over $200. Staff sold 69 Paint Nite tickets which gave MTILP $1,035.
Our total profit for this one night event was just over $1,800; which will be used to-wards fun events for our clients.
Over the past year MTILP, Inc. staff participated in fundraising at Crazy Legs, Brat Fest, Taste of Madison, and Madison Beer Festival; as well as many other small
scale fundraising opportunities in the community. MTILP plans to be a part of these fundraising events again in 2016!
Paint Nite Fundraiser # 3 had a
successful silent auction and
turned everyone into an artist!
Leslie will be leading a 3 part
art program over the 10
weeks.
Very Special Arts 2016 MTILP has its 3rd year partnership with VSA (Very Special Arts). This
year we will have an Art Therapist, Leslie Iwai. She will engage the
participants in visual arts activities that promote creativity, imagina-
tion, social and emotional development, and communication. As she
visits MTILP once a week for 10 weeks, she will teach participants and
staff about visual arts techniques and materials that we can continue
to incorporate in art activities after the program has been completed.
We are looking forward to this wonderful opportunity.

Badger Volunteers
MTILP’s day program had a fall partnership with 7 Badger Volunteers, which was a
great experience. Each Friday we picked a different Disney movie to create a storybook
page for. We also had the movies on in the background. We ended the semester with a
Disney themed party. A 4 person student group planned the party with food, Disney
entertainment and decorations.
MTILP has another spring partnership with Badger Volunteers. This program has been
such a success that this semester we requested 2 volunteer groups. Starting the middle
of February MTILP will have a group of 4 volunteers for Wednesday community inte-
gration trips and 8 volunteers for our Friday VSA program. 2 of the 12 volunteers are
previous Badger Volunteers which makes us very happy!

Disney entertainment!
MTILP has been very fortunate to have so many volunteers interested over the past
few months. In addition we have 8 students from a sorority that will be volunteering
with MTILP on Friday afternoons. We have had 2 musicians who performed last fall for
us, a singer and a violinist. There have been 3 other volunteers who have started with
MTILP on a regular basis as well.
Thank You Volunteers!
MTILP celebrated 20 years of being
in business in September of 2015
with a picnic and a band for staff
enjoyment. All staff were also given
a “swag bag “ containing items with
the new logo which was unveiled at
the party.
Welcome and congratulations to Mike Keleher for joining the MTILP team and recently pass-ing his CDL training and testing! Mike started for MTILP in December after a long search for a bus driver. He has been great with our cli-ents and we look forward to utilizing him for our day center community integration trips.
Mike lives in Waunakee with his wife; they have 3 daughters, 1 son, and 2 grandkids. He enjoys old time radio programs and sitting by the campfire.
Please welcome Mike to the MTILP team!

fall. With three children all over the country,
they have awesome places to visit and light-
houses to investigate, a passion of theirs.
Joni’s in Florida with her husband Jason and
two kids, Zoe and Pyke. Barry and his fiancé
Nicki are moving from Maine to New Hamp-
shire and getting married this fall. Nita is in
New Glarus with her husband Chris and two
kids, Lyndon and Baylee. Whatever free time
is left after all her travels, Connie devotes to
quilting.

Joan’s Thoughts
MTILP, Inc. had another successful year in 2015. I am again very grateful for our dedicated employees that provide the day to day job supports, daily living skills training, travel training, day programming and community integration trips for our clients. I continue to be amazed with the leadership of this company; particu-larly the support, encouragement and recognition employees receive for their contributions. This is a very important goal at MTILP, Inc.
Another important goal in the company’s Strategic Plan is to unify the company. MTILP, Inc. has several programs, and over the last couple of years we have worked very hard to unify the company through fundraising opportunities and special events that benefit our clients. We now host or volunteer in several fundraising events that many of or our employees head up each year.
Finally, I want to emphasize the importance of volunteerism. MTILP, Inc. has been very lucky to have many volunteers to assist with special programs and community integration trips. We have gotten a lot of positive feedback from volunteers saying how much they’ve enjoyed working with our clients. A big thank you to Taneil Boerner for her efforts in recruiting volunteers through Badger Volunteers and United Way of Dane County. Volunteering is about helping others and having an impact on people’s wellbeing, but the personal satisfaction and sense of fulfilment can carry over to your work and personal life.
